I'm hiding menu items using userChrome.css with option “toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets” set to “true”.

So I am hiding some menu items like for example

  1. menu_find { display: none !important }

however though the menu item is gone how do I get rid of the ctrl-F menu shortcut...

I have many such menu items to remove so I need a generic solution to override the short-cut icons associated with the menu items I want to remove

Firefox is not playing any videos on my device. Will typically 'spin' as if loading.

Every site repeats the same stupid troubleshooting steps. I have already: Cleared cookies and cache, Disabled all themes and extensions, Tried in troubleshooting mode, Disabled hardware acceleration, 'refreshed' Firefox, Did a complete uninstall, including deleting %APPDATA%\Mozilla\ and reinstalled.

Videos play just fine in other browsers, like Google Chrome

Firefox 97 and previous version CREATES noise in whatever audio is running. Whether it is audio from Audacious, my music player, or audio from the program I am watching on Firefox. How can I stop the noise, which sounds like static from a week station on an old AM radio? Using other browser does not have this audio problem, UNLESS Firefox is running. Even if not actively using Firefox, just having it open on the desktop causes noise. Using Linux Mint 20 64bit. Audio produced by motherboard ASUS Prime B550 Plus with AMD Ryzen 9 3900X processor. Clicking on Firefox Help gets a message saying "Updates disabled by your system administrator" along with the normal text. I didn't disable updates and I am the Admin.

Since Windows 10 update yesterday, Firefox has stopped working (version 97). I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times. I have also permanently disabled the Webroot extension.

It opens with a blank window and everything grayed out so I cannot even click on "refresh" or anything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

When I try to log in to my one of my bank's secure website, firefox is not connecting. I can connect with chrome and edge. Firefox does connect with other bank and investment accounts websites. I am having the problem with this particular site. I had faced this problem with another website (non-banking, but secure), but it corrected itself in a few weeks.

I appreciate your help.

Thank you.

Hi I wanted to have 2 options for the location of new tabs. 1. At end. 2. Next to adjacent tab.

This is at the same point in time. I know of the setting browser.tabs.insertAfterCurrent in about:config.

I couldn't find an addon to do this.

Could it be possible to have a typical setting for new tab at end, and then a shortcut for new tab next to adjacent?

HTTPS Only mode blocks websites with URL addresses that are shown as https:// websites. Previous posts of this problem have been archived, and reading the replies and suggested resolutions shows that the problem has never really been addressed. Some https websites are being blocked regardless of where the link to them is located. The problem is NOT only with links in emails. I can not see any common traits to the https websites that are blocked by the HTTPS Only mode archive. If I click on the "continue to http website? button on the notification page when HTTPS Only mode is blocking a https:// website, it does usually continue to the https:// website, but it is very irritating as it raises evidently unwarranted suspicions about websites that could very well be completely safe https websites. I know that is the case with some of the links that are blocked, but when I am not familiar with the target website I usually do not continue to the site. I am therefore probably often unable to access information that I really need and that would be readily available but for my hesitancy to continue to a unfamiliar blocked website. An example of the spurious blocking is that when I try to access documents from the Charles Schwab website (such as https://archive.fast-edgar.com/20220208/A322F22CZW2RW2Z2222S2WYSCLVRYZ223242) the website is often blocked., while most links on the Charles Schwab website work exactly as expected. I am very confident that the https://archive.fast-edgar.com/ website is legitimate and safe, and I do not believe that there are potential problems with the link being dragged through a third party tracking website as has been claimed to be the problem with links in emails in previous posts about this problem. It would be great if someone could find the glitch in the HTTPS Only mode implementation so that it can be made usable.

Before if I wanted to refresh a page, I could click the refresh button or right click on the tab or page and select refresh.

And if I wanted to refresh the page but also delete the back history (AKA hard refresh), I would use a shortcut command like Ctrl + F5 or Ctrl + Shift + R. I had actually created a new shortcut Alt + ` to do that. And it used to work. It would delete my back history.

But for a while now, it hasn't worked. The hard refresh just acts like a regular refresh.

After release 97 was installed, my PDF tax files no longer print correctly because an extra margin gets added top, left, right, and bottom. It is visible in the preview, and that's the way it prints. Nowhere can I find a margin adjustment. What is even stranger is that this only happens with "fillable" tax files which I downloaded from IRS and filled in with Firefox, some in release 96 and some in 97. In release 96 they printed correctly, but not in release 97. Do I need to use a different browser?

When joining a Zoom meeting hosted on the browser rather than installed Zoom app, my speakers are not working and the troubleshooting error messages says the browser is blocking zoom from accessing the speakers. I can't find a setting in Firefox preferences to block/allow it. Speakers work on YouTube/Vimeo with no problems (speaker volume 100% and not muted). Speakers had been working with Zoom until a couple weeks ago. I don't want to install the Zoom app just because Google hates privacy and and I don't want to help them own my privacy anymore than I must. I use DuckDuckGo for the default search engine, have Ghostery for an Extension/add-on, and have the Firefox browser set for private window always. I have tried various cookie settings for the Zoom meetings and even the dreaded "accept all cookies" and have Firefox cookie handling set to Standard, with deleting all cookies and history upon exit. I am on 64-bit Windows 10 up to date as of 2/16/22, Dell computer updated to same date, and latest update of Firefox 2/18/22. I have done a number of web searches and not finding the speaker topic or error message other than three unanswered help requests from others with the same problem dated from July-Sept 2021.
