I run Win10, and Firefox recently updated. I use https://partners.titantv.com/default.aspx as a TV guide for my Hauppauge TV tuner card. When I click on a program I want the PC to record, I click the red dot, which creates a program.tvpi file in my Downloads folder (see image attached). Up until recently, this type of file was associated so that clicking the red dot would automatically put it into the Hauppauge recording queue. However, the latest Firefox upgrade took that association away. So, now I have to double-click the program.tvpi file in the Downloads folder to activate it. Is there a way to re-associate it? I tried right-clicking the red dot, but there's no choice. I didn't see it in the Firefox, Settings, General, Applications feature. Thank you for the help.

in the last couple of days every time i download the file it adds the above characters to the name. very annoying - i need then to rename every file. any suggestions?

I can't download ANYTHING on Firefox I've been tempted to switch to Chrome again because of this like why can I not download I don't THINK I did anything wrong either and it's really becoming frustrating I'm sorry

After migration to new PC I created the default folder for Downloads as the Desktop. As during a rebuild the Dowload Folder is deleted. I deleted the Folder " Downloads". I now want to change the default back to a new folder called Downloads. I cannot in Settings get it to take this folder, cannot delete the existing folder (C:\Users\James Euler\Desktop\Downloads). How should I proceed to return to Downloads, or where should I place the new folder "Downloads" so that it becomes the default location for each download? Where should this Download Folder be located?Thanks in advance, as I had no problem making the new default. James

Firefox automatically creates an empty "Downloads" folder in my home directory that I don't need. My browser settings specify a different file save path. How can I stop this? I'm using Firefox 151.0.4 and Rosa Linux 13.2 (Fedora clone).

 Since some days I have the problem that all files I download from outlook are accompanied by a preceding UTF-8 in the file name. This is not the case for e.g. google chrome. Can I fix this problem by myself, or is it a general problem of firefox 128.9esr (64-bit)?

Can you please assist with the following download issue?

Firefox often, though not always, is very slow to download files, and when this occurs, I am unable to search by others tabs etc. I can download the same file using Edge on the same computer "instantaneously". Firefox returns to normal operation ~ 10 seconds after I cancel the download.

I unsuccessfully attempted to search for solutions.

Anyone know if the Firefox app will be in the Microsoft Store soon for download?

I bought a new computer and if I download the app from the website I will permanently be taken out of S mode (I’m sure you guys are aware of this issue).

Im hoping the app will be available through the Microsoft Store very soon because I only use the Firefox browser on all of my other devices.

Is there a way around it other than permanently switching out of S mode and downloading? I’m aware I can do that but prefer not to.

I have my Firefox browser set to ask me where I would like to save my downloads. However, it never asks me. It just automatically sends everything to my downloads folder then opens the file in a new window. I then have to go into my downloads folder and save it where I want to save it. So I must go through the saving process twice. Given that I download a lot of files for my business, this gets real old real quick. I don't have this problem with Chrome. I would like to stick with Firefox, but I'm going to have to make a change if I can't get this issue fixes.

When I didn't know what I was doing, within Settings for Firefox desktop browser for Windows 10 where you can make associations for file types or applications, I began putting choices in that I felt made sense at the time. I don't think I've made the best choices and I would like to change that entire section with the heading Content Type to the defaults that would have appeared in the Action column. Is there a way I can return the defaults only for Content Type without resetting everything in the browser to the state it was first in before I began customizing some areas? Thanks.

Hello, Firefox won't save my download history between sessions, history is set to remember. I tried doing the refresh on the installer and even reinstalling firefox and deleting all mozilla folders in %localappdata% and %appdata% before reinstalling. it just forgets all downloads once I close firefox.

Since around April 2026 , the "Show in folder" option (in "Display the progression of ongoing downloads") does not work anymore when a file is downloaded on a NAS drive . I use a Qnap TS-231P NAS .
