In typing the question, I find that the two keys are reversed. (shift+2 displays ", shift+' displays @) This happens on any page displayed via Firefox. The symbols displayed on typing each are correct on pages displayed with internet explorer, and also in local products such as word or excel. Win 7, Firefox 33.0.2

I have been using firefox for 3 years already and up until now there is a problem with facebook on firefox. I tried using other web-browsers and facebook works perfectly. I already reset it to factory settings, restart firefox, restart pc, restart router, clear cache and nothing works. I even disabled the addons. Sometimes facebook works, when it works it says redirecting... in the facebook tab and it didn't show that up when facebook didn't work. Screenshot of facebook : http://i.imgur.com/ZQgmsdX.jpg

Thanks in advance.

Even after clearing cache and cookies, enabling cookies, starting firefox in safemode, resetting firefox, Says the Same thing. I have tried all troubleshooting information provided by mozilla support and all were unsuccessful in solving the problem. I have the same problem with internet explorer and chrome also.

Firefox tells me that a site has an invalid security certificate, which I know. It asks if I want to Add an Exception and I click to add one. It pops up the Add Security Exception window and that window tells me that this site has a valid certificate and there is no need to add an exception; but I DO need to add an exception and it won't do it for me. Why? I am working in a secure test lab and use Firefox to login to our systems under test. Each time we change or add hardware we must add exceptions to login to a system. I have done this for years with Firefox but now Firefox 4 seems confused. We now need to use EI, which I would rather not.

I have a site that consistently gives "The connection was reset" every three or four clicks. Refreshing brings the page up fine. Server logs show no errors whatsoever, the hits all show 200 responses with no errors logged by back-end code. This only happens in Firefox. IE, Safari, Opera all work fine.

I've tried clearing cache, cookies, etc.

I've tried reinstalling Firefox.

I've tried reinstalling an older version of Firefox in case it's a recent bug.

I've tried disabling DNS prefetching.

I've tried just about every other remedy I can find on the internet.

Is there any kind of HTML or JavaScript that would cause the browser to throw a fit for no apparent reason?

Thanks.

How can I reset the DEFAULT zoom view in Firefox at 125%, like IE, so I don't have to reset it every time ?

I have seen this question asked previously and it seems there is no answer.

I know that one can change each individual web page (that reset defaults back to 100%) and, alternatively and apparently one can load an add-on to fix the default size at Full Zoom.

... But any hints on how to achieve a DEFAULT 125% zoom would be much appreciated.

My company has a custom developed ticketing system and of course its developed for IE but none of the engineers like IE. We all use and want to continue using Firefox. One of the sections in the ticketing system has a spot for links to local files on a shared drive. I have created the link and it points to a word document. That hyperlink works fine in IE but it does nothing when clicked in Firefox.

Of course the dev team is giving me the age old line ".NET doesn't play nice with Firefox... developed for IE.... blah blah use IE."

Surely creating a link to a local file like excel or word or even a directory is simple idea and should be accomplished somehow with FireFox right? Can anyone shed some light on this and give a suggestion how to make this work?

For example: N:\KNOWLEDGE BASE\Cisco Price List\2012\pricelistaugust2012.xlsx i am trying to share with a hyperlink like:

Looking for any suggestions on how to make this work. Thank you so much!!

Hi, I have reviewed many similar posts but none of them works to fix my issue. Issue: "This Connection is Untrusted" with "sec_error_unknown_issuer ". But NO option of "I understand the risk". My firefox suddenly could not access websites such as YAHOO Mail, Google Mail, Facebook, Linkedin....etc while firefox is able to access other regular websites. Other broswers (IE, Chrome) do not have this issue.

Steps taken 1. Confirmed Date & time is correct. 2. "Certificate" shows these websites are in the list 3. Cleared Cache and cookies. 4. I am in company network. So I have to be either "auto-detect proxy" or "use system proxy setting". If I change to "no proxy", then Firefox could not get into any website. 5. deleted cert8.db

None of them worked to fix this issue. Please help to solve this issue. Thanks

How do I prevent firefox from using HTML5 player in youtube and use flash player instead? I am not sure what advantage HTML5 has over Flash. I noticed that Flash plays smoother than HTML5 and there is also a difference in quality of the video at low resolution. HTML5 does not seem to have smooth streaming compared to Flash. I may be wrong and I am ready to learn the advantage of HTML5 over Flash. But until then I wish to revert FF to its previous behavior of playing in flash.

If there is no way of bypassing this player (html5), how do I set it to ask before I allow it to play the video? I dislike videos playing automatically as soon as I open the link or any websites (reason why I set Flash player to 'ask to activate').

Thank you for your generous help. :)

Despite following both Firefox and Flash directions, Firefox won't play videos from YouTube, Hulu, etc. They either never load or they load and freeze within seconds. Before I got the latest versions of Firefox and Flash, I did not have this problem. So there must be a problem in one or both of them. Since I understand from various websites that this is a widespread problem, can Firefox fix this? It's a major flaw in the latest Firefox version.

Hello,

Everything was running completely fine in Firefox and then all of a sudden it simply stopped displaying .swf files. Where they should be is simply blank. On websites with a background I can see the background through where the .swf file should be. This includes opening locally saved files as well as every website with a .swf file that's supposed to play.

I do mean suddenly quite literally, as it was right in the middle of a browsing session. I changed nothing, just...one minute they were working fine, the next they completely halted. It's clear the program is recognizing that something's supposed to be there, as Adblock pops up a little "Block" tab over where the file should be, but again, that space is completely blank. It's not black, it's transparent.

I've completely uninstalled Shockwave and reinstalled it from scratch, and "updated" it three times now, all to no effect.
