Why has the function of my up & down arrow keys changed? Did I click something by accident? Help please?

(My new kitten *might* have stood on something on my keyboard - she's done that before & put Full Screen mode on, but I managed to fix that)

Normally, I scroll down a web page a bit at a time using the down arrow key on my laptop keyboard. Since yesterday, when I press the down arrow, the page jumps to the bottom (like pressing PageDown would do) and the up arrow jumps all the way back up.

How do I set it back so that it scrolls a bit whilst I press the key?

Every time i opened several websites, typically ones that doesn't end with .com or .org, i get redirected to either linkbucks or adfly. When i tried to skip, it redirected me to some random website, typically Google. I was told this is a browser hijacker. A virus.

But i scanned, i used Spyhunter, AVG, and Avast! All three came up clean. And still getting redirected. So I uninstalled Firefox, uninstalled every add on, every Mozilla related data. Then start anew, clean and fresh, no addon whatsoever.

Barely a week, and already it start showing symptoms of redirecting me again to adfly and linkbucks. Can somebody help me please?

Since firefox just recently updated, .pdf files when clicked, either on email or the web would pop open a box that says save file or open file. Firefox updated and it no longer ask this anymore, it just immediately tries to download it. I don't use any .pdf add on through Firefox, I tried one today but it still doesn't help. Is there a way to turn this basic function back on without a add-on. It has never needed one before.

Thanks.

This past weekend, my girlfriend decided to "help" me by closing most of my tabs and turning them into bookmarks, but I couldn't work with them in the order she put them in and wanted things back to way they were. I left the tabs as bookmarks, then went to my Library where I found a button that said "Restore" under the Import and Backup heading, and had it restore things to the way they were. Turns out it just got rid of the bookmarks, but didn't bring back my tabs. I really, really, need these back, and would rather not have to go crawling through my history for them. I have some of these tabs backed up from another pc on sync, but whenever I go to About: sync-tabs, it's completely blank. What do I do? Please help!

Frequently my downloads are not actually finishing, even though Firefox says they are done. For example I download a 250 MB file, then I check on it later and it says the file is 75 MB and completed. Needless to say the files are incomplete and archives do not even open.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/966009?esab=a&as=aaq I saw that thread and nothing there helped me. Would using a third party download manager like DownThemAll work better?

Some video files in this website: http://ojs.uprrp.edu/index.php/umbral/article/viewArticle/270/240 are properly displayed, while others display the "No video with supported format or MIME types found" error. I have tested them on Chrome and they work correctly. How come Firefox can't play them?

In Firefox, whenever I try and directly access the video files (example: http://www.rideg.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/7-desalambrar_-_Daniel_Viglietti.ogv), it shows a "Video cannot be displayed because the file is corrupt" error, while directly accessing them on Chrome or downloading and playing locally is not a problem.

Using Firefox's Browser Console, I can see that "Media resource http://www.rideg.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/18-Cantautoras.ogv could not be decoded" and similar errors appear for the videos that don't display.

What's the issue here? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

A message: "Mozilla Firefox seems slow... to... start" appears at bottom of browser. Is it legitimate? Or does my computer have some kind of infection?

It looks almost like a status bar message, except that at the right edge of the line it has two buttons: "Learn How To Speed It Up" and "Don't Tell Me Again", followed by an "x". Also, at the left edge (preceding the message) is a gray turtle symbol.

I'm running Firefox 24.0 on Windows 7 [the "About" screen also says says: Version 6.1 (Build 7601: Service Pack 1)].

I am running Firefox 24 on a relatively new 64-bit laptop with Windows 8 Pro. I initially installed Firefox Nightly on it to take advantage of the 64 capability.

Related or not, I started getting these error messages at startup pertaining to problems with update.exe, nss3.dll missing as well as mozglue.dll. In addition, when my laptop has been idle for some time and I want to use it its frozen (not always) and I have to reboot 'brute force'. There is also another error message that pops up from time to time being 'runtime error 216 at ...'

As it seems that mozglue.dll is associated with Firefox alone, I imagine that resolution should at least in part be found here.

I have already deinstalled Firefox and Nightly completely and downloaded and installed the current 24.o version.

I have also scanned for malware and viruses using an the present, up-to-date Windows Defender.

Unfortunately problems persist. Can any one help me?

Today I was having issues with my internet. After calling my provider (Time Warner Cable) and doing the proper troubleshooting it has boiled down to it is a problem with Firefox.

Whenever I load Firefox, I have it set so the same tabs open each time. Google, Facebook, Youtube, and Yahoo. Normally they would load and I would start my business or what-have-you, but today all are giving 404 errors. I have refresh the page it does not resolve the issue or if I manually type in the page address in, it too, does not load. Facebook will load properly once I type in the website in the bar and load it that way. If I open a new tab and try these websites (Google, Youtube, Yahoo, and Facebook) they all give me the 404 error, but if I click on the Facebook logo in the left hand corner of the page, it will load my news feed. CNN, TWC, and Gmail all load fine and I am able to use the services. Another thing I tried was disconnecting manually from my internet and then reconnecting. I changed my SSI and reset the modem several times still to no avail. If I load Google using my phone, it comes up fine, same as all the other sites listed. I restarted my computer twice (each after both resets of my modem) and I still have this problem. Now the "funny" thing now is that if I load these pages in Internet Explorer, they all load without any 404 errors. I have not tried clearing my cache or history today, and I checked the Firefox website to make sure I have the current version (I normally ALWAYS update my Firefox when it is requested). I don't want to have to uninstall Firefox I JUST got all my bookmarks back from the last uninstall I had to do (accidentally loaded an unwanted toolbar, yuck!) and also this was working fine yesterday and early this morning (2-3am central time)

ANY information regarding this issue will be welcome! Thanks!
