Firefox crashes randomly during video playback. I've submitted over 10 crash reports. I'm on Fedora 41 + gnome, but this issue persisted even in Windows 11, which caused BSOD therefore I made the switch to linux (At least in linux it doesn't crash the whole system, only firefox). If you need any additional information let me know. I can run journalctl/dmesg if required.

I've already tried things like restarting in safe mode (troubleshoot mode), refreshing firefox etc. Didn't work.

Since a few weeks I have been encountering an issue where tabs in Firefox would frequently crash. I do have various add-ons installed, however I haven't installed any new ones around the time the issue has been occurring. I've been unable to track down which add-on or if any add-on might be causing this.

Trying to search for this issue all I could come up with is that it might be an issue of a faulty CPU. I have an i9-13900KF which has been known to be part of the Intel generation with serious flaws. However I already installed a BIOS update and applied Intel's recommended settings to undervolt the CPU to prevent any issues. This was well before the Firefox tab crashing issue happened. So I'm not sure if it can really be the issue of a faulty CPU, but I've also had issues of other programs randomly crashing recently (like Discord or Steam).

The tab crash can occur on any website, for example Youtube, Duckduckgo, Protonmail, etc. The crash reason always is either "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_READ" or just "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION". The crash also most of the time (but not always) occurs when loading the page itself or a video / live stream on it. But not when browsing an already loaded page (for example this forum post page I'm writing right now).

Could someone help me narrow down this issue? Can it really be a faulty CPU and I need to trade mine in?

My Firefox Browser keeps crashing at random times. I was using Chrome previously and it was worse than the Firefox performance. I just installed 128 GB of brand new DDR5 RAM which I tested in windows with no error. I have no malware on my computer currently. I ran all of the usual checks that you suggested with regard to extensions and cache. Here is the most recent report ID that was generated by Firefox:

I INSTALLED THE FREQUENT FIREFOX UPDATES BUT THE PROBLEN PERSISTED EVER SINCE VERSIONS 42X WERE RELEASED. I TRIED THE 32-BIT VERSION BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. FINALLED, I TRIED THE DEVELOPER VERSION: NO MORE CRASHES! I READ THE RESPONSES FROM YOUR CLUELESS STAFF TO OTHER CUSTOMERS WITH THE SAME TROUBLE. THIS IS NOT A WINDOWS ERROR; THIS IS A FIREFOX APPLICATION ERROR. MAYBE SOME OF YOUR FIREFOX DEVELOPER CODERS SHOULD ASSIST THE 32-BIT AND 64-BIT DEVELOPERS. OR, DUMP THE VERSION 4X CODE AND BUILD ON THE MORE STABLE 39X CODE. ALSO, DON'T BLAME WINDOWS FOR FIREFOX APPLICATION ERRORS. AND...NEVER SUGGEST A WINDOWS REINSTALL FOR FIREFOX ERRORS!!!

For many years, I have been exchanging video calls on Facebook.

Recent attempts to video call the same person I've been video calling for the past 3 years result in "your browser doesn't support video calls"

Have I been "hacked"?

Please explain.

Getting "Mozilla Firefox Crash Reporter" problem message when attempting to print files (Docs & Sheets) from Google Cloud. Errors messages have appeared on Lenova Thinkpad laptop in Firefox since mid Dec update. Can print existing files located on desktop, just not from cloud. Both HP and Epson Printers test fine, can print 'test pages'. Tried downloading files from cloud to pc....opening downloads, got same Firefox problem message and crashed. Have used same firefox browser and same printers for several years. Rebooted several times, same error. Can print, 'printer test pages'. Do I have a switch turned off/on or is this a browser problem. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Bonjour, Voilà, depuis une mise à jour de Windows 11 la kb 5054979 et la kb 5055523 fêtent ensemble j'arrive à accéder à Firefox à l'aide de la souris mais dès que je tape au clavier Firefox plante. J'ai essayer la mise à jour des pilotes du clavier croyant à un problème de drivers mais il est à jour. J'ai désinstallé les mises à jour mais rien n'y fait J'aimerai savoir d’où peu provenir le problème ?. Firefox envoie bien des infos sur le plantage et essaye de remettre les onglets mais le problème reste le même. merci pour votre aide ? I am experiencing a recurring issue with Firefox on Kali Linux.

Environment:

- OS: Kali Linux (running inside Termux on Android) - Connection: VNC (RealVNC) - Device: Android phone (low RAM) - Desktop: XFCE

Problem: Whenever I open Firefox, tabs frequently crash with the message: “Gah. Your tab just crashed.”

What I already tried:

- Disabled hardware acceleration - Disabled recommended performance settings - Ran Firefox in safe mode - Created a new Firefox profile - Lowered VNC resolution - Restarted the system

The problem still persists.

I believe this may be related to graphics rendering or memory limitations under VNC/Termux.

Please advise if there is a workaround or configuration that can prevent this crash.

I have today encountered a reproducible issue with Firefox 145.0.2 (64-bit) on my system (CachyOS Linux). Whenever I press the "Print" button in the printing dialog for a PDF file, the browser freezes and no longer reacts to anything. I had to kill the process manually and try again. I have then downloaded the PDF and opened a different application to print it - that worked fine. Is this a known issue with Firefox? Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

I already tried resetting the printer settings in the browser, but that did not change anything.

Firefox crashes constantly when I load it mostly when in youtube though. I notice so I am not sure what is causing it to crash it could be ublock origin as I use that to block ads on youtube that is the only thing I can think of or maybe the return dislike button but here is my crash report below ID bp-8f27f4a1-7ed0-492e-823d-e57af0250304

Ran into an interesting bug with Firefox since installing the macOS26 Dev beta. Whenever I use command space to bring up spotlight, Firefox become unresponsive, the beach ball will spin. It will only happen if Firefox is in focus when I use spotlight, and only if I am signed into Firefox sync.

I am not sure of a way to help replicate this issue as it seems to only happen when signed with Sync, but I would be happy to provide additional if I can.

I have Win 11 dell computer that does not play or pick up sound from web sites videos .I checked and tested my sound using the Microsoft platform & buy playing a disc. It works OK

When I login to amazon, it asks my user name (normal), then asks my password (normal), then when it sends a code to my phone, it freezes the entire browser and I have to force quit Firefox. Been happening a week, I've cleared history, run several programs (Malwarebytes and CCleaner-with normal results) and restarted my computer (Macbook Air running Sequoia 15.6.1). Any fix for this?

Why is Firefox crashing so often? What changed? Is there something I need to do to prevent his? Once or twice a week or sometimes a day, but It seems to crash when I am just in my Gmail, sometimes 4 or 5 times an hour. Is Chrome a better option?

Can you guys check why your netflix account is getting logged out every time regardless of how many times you logged in and for prime video if you play any video i'm getting video player error, can you please check
