I have years of bookmarks that have disappeared and my history is missing. Firefox opens with the tabs that were open when it shut down. I really want my bookmarks back.

When I do this:

Click the menu button Fx89menuButton to open the menu panel. Click Bookmarks and then click the Manage bookmarks bar at the bottom. In the Library window, click the Import and Backup button and then select Restore.

I get a blank slate. No files listed.

When I go into the Profile, I see C:\Users\whatt\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\shgdgxn6.default-release-1752271533405\bookmarkbackups

How do I restore bookmarks from that file?

a few days ago I received a message that i had an upgrade from Firefox. After that I can't find the bookmarks I had saved for paying bills as well as other important items.

After the update occurred my desktop bookmarks was not here anymore! I need to get that desktop bookmars back and I can not figure out how to get it back PLEASE help me!!

I upgraded to Firefox 143.0.4 and lost all of my Bookmarks. How do I find and reload my Default Profile? Also, I cannot load anything in Firefox I am forced to use Edge which I do not like at all!!!!

All of my bookmarks are gone When i click on manage bookmarks it is empty. Ive tried the other things and I cannot get them back. And how do i prevent this from happening on another computer? And can i opt out of updates because it seems like they create more problems for me then what they fix

It will take hours and hours to  get the website back and change all the passwords

I seem to have lost all of my bookmarks & i have tried to Import and backup / restore in manage bookmarks tab but all i get is a message "unable to process the backup file" plus when i tried to bookmark a web page by clicking on the Star bookmark icon nothing happens now for some reason. Was there an update as this only just started around 2 days ago

firefox suddenly stopped showing any history or book marks. also no history. i've re downloaded, no change. all works well with chrome but i like firefox. and thoughts?

I run the current Firefox version under Windows 11 Pro on a Dell Inspiron 15 3530 laptop, Lately, I've been having problems with my bookmarks:

• First, I found that I had somehow lost a large number of bookmark tags; it took me several days to restore them,
• Next, I found that I had lost a bunch of bookmark subfolders; the bookmarks (for the most part) are still listed under their tags.
• When I try searching for tags in Bookmarks Manager, the search yield no results
• When I try to restore my bookmarks from a previous date, I get an "unable to process file" message.
• When I try to open the profile folder through the debugging information page, I get a "file not found" message. After some searching, I found the profile folder not at "C:\Users\croge\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\7csymh5k.default-release", but at "C:\Users\croge\AppData\Local\Packages\Mozilla.Firefox_n80bbvh6b1yt2\LocalCache\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles", Something seems to have gone haywire--did I miss something, or is there an error somewhere?

I rebooted my laptop to find that Firefox removed all of my data. I looked up for ways to fix this and then arrived at the conclusion that I could create a profile and set the folder to one of the profiles that weren't listed on Firefox. It seemed to save my history correctly and my saved downloads, but they all said that they were moved or missing. I checked the passwords and instead of the long list of passwords that I normally have, there were only a couple, and the passwords were also sometimes outdated. I cannot recover some of these passwords. I've tried checking the passwords in the other profiles that were listed in the profiles and nothing shows up. None of the cookies were saved either

My SSD boot drive crashed -- Rebuilt system (brand new SSD boot drive) and reloaded all of my data from a separate backup, however Firefox profile is gone. I have copies of the old profiles including the places files, etc. Following Mozilla's instructions I reloaded the old profiles. Firefox starts right up but *without* my bookmarks, etc. Unfortunately there was no "old Firefox data" folder saved and I could not retrieve the bookmark specific backup. Thoughts? Thanks!

Background is a little complex. We have been running Win 10 under the ESU, My wife had her box unintentionally do a Win 11 update. She then started a backup which then looked like it would take days, so she aborted it after a while and ran the procedure to revert to Win 10, which then completed successfully. I think she then rebooted and opened Firefox and all her prior windows were there and working, After a while they got slower and slower, so she closed Firefox, might have rebooted and restarted Firefox. She now has 37 windows that are all completely blank. There is a New Tab tab and now URL in any window,

Is there any way that would likely recover all those open windows? Or, at least the URLs of all the tabs?

I just transferred my data from an old computer with Windows 10 and now have Windows 11 on my new computer with a new version of firefox as my browser. How do I restore my bookmarks?
