I have been using Firefox as my primary browser for a very long time. Now, every time I start Firefox, I get a message that the update failed, and that I should manually download the update file and run it. I do so, the update appears to work, and Firefox behaves, until I stop it and restart again. Then I get the same message. I looked online - it appears that others have had this problem, but no clear solution. I am not willing to use Edge, but am beginning to wonder if it is time to leave Firefox. WIndows 11 64, AMD processor, 64 GB ram. Connected via ethernet and fiber. NordVPN, and Bitdefender (neither of which has produced any error messages).

I have Firefox 124.0.2 running on Windows 11. For some reason, I can't update Firefox. When I manually download the update file, it appears to run Ok, but the version doesn't change. If I go to settings and click on "Check for Updates" is comes back and says Failed to Check for Updates. How do I fix this?

Originally reported on April 11th /questions/1444593: I have Windows 11 and the Firefox 124.0.2 browser. I cannot update to the latest version of Firefox. I receive an error message "Failed to update". I've uninstalled and reinstalled the browser, ran the install utility selecting update, nothing seems to work. Please help

I have been getting the "new version available, download now nag for over 2 weeks, and I have the latest version. Still get this issue repeatedly every day. Starting to become an every hour nag to update and install latest version of Firefox. Refuse to use Microsoft Edge or Chrome, and will switch off Firefox too if not rectified.

Firefox keeps reminding me that updates are available. I download and it says its installing but it doesn't seem to update. I have tried closing Firefox before running the installation but it makes no difference. I am on 125.02 at the moment.

Web cam image on web page stopped working after last update. Using win 11. Tried refresh, worked last time but not this time, checked permission security settings. Can get the camera image on a tablet but not laptop. (lenovo) Anything I might have missed?

I have Screwfix.com as a bookmark in my Firefox browser(default) and have recently found that I am unable to log in to Screwfix.

Screwfix tell me that I should be able to log in using Microsoft Edge (I can) but I prefer Firefox!

Can you sort this out for me please?

I've been trying to delete cookies and site data multiple times and it will not delete, even after multiple attempts to fix it. Such as deleting Mozilla folder in file explorer and downloading an extension to delete cookies and cache. Everything else gets deleted fine except for 2 sites.

When opening a new website when a window is already opened I want Mozilla to add a tab and not create an entirely new window. How do I change this feature which presumably is in "settings".

For System Administrative reasons, I want to disable automatic Firefox updates. Firefox can ask me if I want to install an update, but I get to choose whether or not to update.

I'm encountering an issue with accessing my website, www.mobilepackages.in. When I try to access it using the HTTP protocol (http://), the website doesn't appear. However, when I use the HTTPS protocol (https://), the website shows up without any problems. What could be causing this discrepancy? Hello there, Iam facing a problem with changing Firefox homepage background. I tried every solution, tutorial, oldposts etc. nothing seems to work, here is what I tried. -1- The chrome folder is in the right folder. -2- the naming of both CSS files userChrome, userContent. -3- enabled CSS files at startup -4- search for both CSS files in the browser toolbox for some reason I cannot find both CSS files, even though they are in the chrome directory. Also, I have 2 chrome folders one of them is located here. "AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\shaf5qn0.default-release\storage\permanent\chrome" the other one I created myself which is here "AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\shaf5qn0.default-release\chrome" I tried to delete the first one but I cant, I get an error that this file is being used even though I did close Firefox. What I am missing here?

I am using Firefox v125.0.2. When I open a PDF in Firefox it takes a lot of time to load. But, when the same PDF opened in the Edge browser it loads normally and scrolling through PDF pages renders fast. I have shared the screenshot of a single-page pdf loading taking quite a long time.

is there any Collections where category wise someone can save web sites ?

Presently, I do not find any. Hence, i am using Pocket and keeping there creating Lists, but it is not so cosy kind, Shall request Firefox team to create Collections in Firefox on windows 11

I have used Firefox for many, many years and have always loved it. Recently, it stopped loading some websites. I have read and tried everything I have read and still can't fix the problem. I have to switch to Edge to load the sites. I am tearing my hair out trying to get this fixed, but I will have to use other browsers if this doesn't get cleared up. Some sites load and most don't, but there is no rhyme nor reason to what it loads and what it doesn't. I do not have a great deal of tech know-how and cannot seem to fix this according to my research. I get no "error" messages except that the page can't load. Please help. I would hate to have to learn another browser.
