Last night I decided to check the monthly weather forecast just before going to bed. I googled, "weather" then clicked through to a website before realizing it wasn't the one I meant to click. I backed out and clicked another link further down the list. I thought to myself, "That's going to screw me up in future because the wrong website will be a visited link and I'll mistake it for my preferred site."
I'm a long-time Firefox user and upgraded to Quantum when it first came out. I had made a cursory inspection of some of the new features at that time, and remembered the little counter-clockwise arrow in the toolbar was supposed to be a shortcut for deleting a set time frame of browsing history. Remembering this, I clicked it and a little menu popped up with options for how much history to forget. I clicked the option to forget 5 minutes.
I'd had multiple windows with multiple tabs open and they all disappeared instantly. I don't know if the browser crashed or simply intended to restart itself, but when it reopened there was only one window with no tabs.
I quickly hit the three bar menu button in the top-right and navigated to Library > History > Recently Closed Windows. Both this menu and Recently Closed Tabs were entirely empty.
My secondary Windows were of secondary importance, but my first and primary window had a large number of pinned and ordinary tabs that I did not want to lose. Tabs that I have been saving for months - some more than a year. Many that I migrated from Firefox I to Quantum. In the past, they have always been recoverable through the History. Now they seem to have been erased without a trace because I clicked, "Forget 5 minutes" from the toolbar.
I tried using Window's System Restore to reset my computer to a restore point from yesterday, but this had no effect on my Firefox session. Is there any way to reverse this and recover the session I've been using daily since before Quantum had been released? Is it anywhere?

Incomplete messages: I frequently receive messages from advertisers or newsletters containing multiple photos, posters, or the like, which never get filled in. They show up as empty boxes with a photo icon in the upper left corner. Sometimes they sit for many minutes and remain blank. The problem is not present when I use the Chrome browser.
What do I have to do to see the intended messages?

Any idea how to fix it? It is really annoying.

After my computer lost power due to a selective power failure (we are not currently sure whether it was a blown fuse or something else), we Rebooted the computer after connecting the power cable to an outlet that works. Currently power is still of at both the original outlet, and several other outlets in the area, as well as a selective area downstairs.
Upon booting up Firefox (I have it set so that it will reopen any tabs I was viewing upon shutdown or restart or crash) I noticed that it was taking longer to load than usual (even accounting for the large number of tabs I constantly have open), and then after it had loaded that I could not access any of that tabs. I can click on them, and they will be highlighted if moused over, but the only thing that shows is a white screen for the actual site. I have included a picture of this. I have come to the conclusion that this is a Firefox error, given I was able to restart and recover all of my Google Chrome Tabs.
In addition to the Tabs not loading, Tabs to the left and right of the Tabs currently viewable are not accessible, and seem to almost not exist, if not for the lack of scroll arrows. In addition, scrolling left and/or right produces no response.
Normally I would grab the crash file and reopen the tabs from that, but I don't know whether I currently can, and current Firefox issues noted below make me leery of trying.
Upon noting that I could, I attempted to open a second Firefox session, and succeeded. However, in this session some of the same issues are occurring, mainly that I cannot search anything through the html bar, including opening websites by name (i.e. google.com produces but a blank white screen and no reaction), and there is no new tabs screen when I open a new tab (as I have set up in my settings to be the case). However, I can, for some reason, access sites from my bookmarks. The only way I was able to send this report is that Firefox automatically opened to a homepage when I opened the new session.
Needless to say, I'm rather concerned. I love Firefox as a browser, and not being able to use it is both concerning and frustrating. I hope to hear from you soon to resolve the matter.

P.S. If it at all helps (please disregard if it doesn't) the symbol that looks like a multi-forked branch on the modem is dark. I unfortunately do not know what that means.

Hello, I've got like 6th BSOD while using Firefox. The problem started after updating to Firefox 57 beta. The common thing that I've found with those bluescreens is: - media - selection.
I'm almost sure that it happens after trying to drag anything. You know what I'm talking about: if we have an image we can 'drag' it and it becomes semi-transparent. This doesn't happen every time - firefox needs to be opened for some time. It's connected with YouTube, static images and - I think - selected text.
I wanted to attach minidump files, but I forgot I've cleaned them up, and the ones from last 3 BSODs were not created (I didn't want to wait, the code was the same, the file was the same).

This is a tough one. I am a FedEx.com user and my email is with Outlook. I also use Firefox (newest) and am on Windows 10. I can no longer open a link which arrives in my mailbox from FedEx with Firefox. It has worked for years but I was told Java no longer works with FF and I must use IE or Chrome. Now my problem is that I do not want to use Chrome on a full time basis - is there any way to open just those FedEx links in Chrome and still use FF as my default? I had FedEx remote to my computer to see what the problem was and why it would no open. I have attached an image of what shows when I open the link in FF but I cannot forward it nor copy it nor do anything with it. They said if I cleared FF of total cache, cookies etc it would be ok. I did this but it still does not work. Please - I need some help.

I see several cookies in the CCleaner cookies windows that I can't find anywhere else. These cookies do not appear in the cookies list under Firefox Settings, and Firefox is the only browser I use.
Some examples are connect.facebook.net, cdnjs.cloudfare.com, and login.wikimedia.org, and these cookies keep coming back after cleaning them up even though I haven't visited those sites and have 3rd-party cookies blocked in Firefox except from visited sites. Notice in the attached image that these cookies are listed in CCleaner, but they aren't listed in Firefox Settings.
Can anyone tell me where these cookies are stored and why I can't see them in Firefox Settings?

Shift + underscore causes the console to pop up constantly. Can't use the shift key properly on Firefox. Some kind of glitch.

Today is November 14th and I allowed The download of the promised new and improved Firefox. I HATE IT ALREADY. I have lost 75% of my add-ons. I have lost the extra toolbars where just one extra positionable toolbar would help. There is hardly any options in customizing. I checked the help section where it was suggested it wasn't safe to go back so is it just a case of wait and see if the older add-ons are updated or what. It has been rendered impossible for me to use this for everyday use and I did prefer Firefox over everybody else.
