In the last Firefox update, you changed the printing user interface AGAIN. The print.tab_modal.enabled=false config option no longer works, and I can't easily re-scale my page when I print. Is there a new option which restores the original behavior or is there some other remedy that will let me print using the Windows System dialogue?

I'm using Windows 10 Pro and Firefox 97.0.1 I do not want the Firefox icon on my desktop (I already have it pinned to my taskbar). I delete the shortcut, but it reappears each time I log in. Removing it requires me to have a coworker with admin privileges come supply a password - it's not tenable for me to keep bugging her every day. I cannot find the setting to suppress the re-creation of the desktop icon; where is it located? I prefer Firefox, but if there's no solution to this I will have to uninstall it and switch to a different browser.

This is the third time I've lost all my passwords (and logins) since the beginning of the year. I had over 200 when I lost it the first time. I've entered over 75 since then and today I just lost those. Fortunately, I had a backup of my profile. The old "key4.db" and "logins.json" files I had didn't work, although they have a significant size. In fact, looking at the "logins.json" using VS Code I see the logins are there but they don't display in the "Settings > Privacy & Security". How can I get access to them when this happens again. I was able to restore the profile from several days ago so I'm not completely in trouble.  :-)

I seem to have a problem with the dates in my browser. This has caused the weAutoPagerize add-on to stop working properly. This add-on to connects to a database to update itself. The problem, as the attached image indicates, is that my browser tells the add-on that the date is 12/31/1969, which means that it cannot be updated.

I've also tried the uAutoPagerize add-on, which uses the same database, and has the same problem.

It seems this problem originated when I had to restore my system. However, I already checked the date and time on my computer, and they are correct. It should be noted that this problem only occurs in my portable Firefox. In my desktop version any of the two add-on mentioned above work normally.

What could I do to fix this problem?

Thank you for your answers.

Good day Firefox When the Wordle puzzle was accessed via the powerlanguage.co.uk website, my Firefox browser gave me easy access via bookmark but, in recent days, the ownership and location of the puzzle has passed to the New York Times and my bookmark activation takes me to the NYT games/wordle page but the page is blank. I have now found that I can access the page and complete the puzzle using Microsoft Edge but I have no desire to use Edge. I have read a statement in the NYT that the puzzle will continue with free access so payment is not an obstacle. Is there likely a setting in Firefox which is preventing me access to the puzzle and, if so, are you able to suggest where I can access the setting. Thank you, John Price

I have for many years tried to have excel automatically open downloaded .csv files as I do this every day many times. Until today I have not been able to understand why, despite having asked for Firefox to automatically open .csv files with Excel, and therefore finding "Microsoft Excel Comma Separated Values File" associated to "Use Excel (Default)" in the application association list in the General settings, Firefox continues to ask what to do with the .csv file type when downloading.

What I have discovered is that when using a search for associations in the General tab, csv gives no results! However searching for cel does for some reason list the "Microsoft Excel Comma Separated Values File".

It seems to me that the file type three letter code for the Microsoft excel csv file is wrongly stated in the association list. Is my assumption right? If so how can I correct this please?

For information I have had this problem on more than one computer! I have just set this up on a brand new laptop when discovering this.

Images attached... Thank you.

I recently noticed that my Firefox hadn't updated in a few weeks. When clicking on Help -> About Firefox the Check for Updates button is missing (I was at 97.0). I then downloaded the latest version of Firefox which created a 2nd Firefox icon. I deleted the old Firefox and am now using 97.0.1 but the About Firefox window is still missing the check for updates button (see attached pic).

Also strange is that in the Settings Menu, under General, there are no choices for anything (the other options work) (see attached pic).

Thanks!

Print preview disappeared today. This happened about a year ago and I was able to restore it by entering about:config in the address bar, enter, accept the risk, type tab_mo in the search box and switch between true and false (false is classic esperience I want to restore). Well, false is not working.

I am working on a project that entails saving various news stories. Since your last upgrade to 97.0.1 I have no problem with all other newspapers except for Washington Post. FF will not save them, so I am forced to click on the "progress of ongoing download" down pointing arrow and click again on the circular arrow to actually save the web page. This involves a loss of time doing a task that I should not be forced to perform. See the graphic image below to see what I'm talking about. Once I click on that circular arrow the web page will be saved as it should have to begin with. Since I normally save 30 to 40 Washington Post files every day, this adds up to a useless waste of my time. I'd appreciate it if you would look into this matter and issue a correction update so I can save Washington Post web pages without all the double stroking. Thank you.

This seems to be something from Kaspersky labs:

Why is this appearing in my page when browsed with FF? What can I do to eliminate insertion of undedirable code into my pages?

I have a question about the Firefox browser that came installed by default with my enterprise set-up. I usually browse on Chrome, but my user also has a 'Mozilla Firefox' browser installed. When I opened it today, I found that it is somewhat out of date. Aside from buggy tab formatting, the biggest indication is an invalid certificate warning for many sites including Wikipedia and the Mozilla support website.

As shown in the attached screenshots, Firefox version 34.0.5 is running, and it considers itself up to date. I subsequently installed the default version of Firefox for Windows 10 (apparently 97.0), but it did not update the previous Firefox browser, which is still accessible under 'Mozilla Firefox,' whereas I am writing this ticket in the current browser, called 'Firefox.'

I think this question should be very low priority, but I am wondering why the browser thinks it is up to date. According to the current documentation, the only internal path to updates seems to be a 'Help' > 'About Firefox' > (Firefox initiates automatic update) sequence, but that isn't working for the older browser version. It feels like updating to the newest version should be possible from within the outdated Firefox, rather than doing what I did and installing another instance on my machine.
