Can anyone supply updated code for the userChrome.css for restoring Tabs to below Menu bar, Location bar, and Personal Toolbar? The code below was working until I upgraded to 65.0.

/* tabs on bottom */

  1. navigator-toolbox toolbar:not(#nav-bar):not(#toolbar-menubar) {-moz-box-ordinal-group:10}
  2. TabsToolbar {-moz-box-ordinal-group:1000!important}

Thank you for the help.

edited the title of this thread to include Windows 10 as the operating system the OP posted from

A friend of mine accidentally installed something he shouldn't have which installed a plugin in Firefox called "Information Vine". The offending app is gone but the plugin remains.

The result of the addon was that it redirected every Google search to their own website (type something into Google... no "common phrase" dropdown... and it takes you to the malware's host website to display links to advertisers masquerading as Google search results.) And any installed adware/malware removal app already installed on his computer refuses to run (forcing me to install new software, which neither sees nor detects the malware.) His Avast Antivirus likewise does not detect the plugin.

Disabling the plugin solved the issue of redirecting his Google searches, but I can not find a way to *remove* the plugin itself. I've tried going thru his plugin folder (in his User\Profile directory), removing anything suspicious in his Registry that might be related, and even "HiJackThis" doesn't detect the plugin (even if I re-enable it.)

I'm stumped. How do I delete a plugin that can't be removed by conventional means? I've tried every answer found on Google but nothing works.

TIA

PS: Before anyone suggests it, I also already tried obtaining the path to the plugin via "about:plugins", found the folder and deleted it, yet it's still there.

I just updated to Firefox 65 and suddenly my tabs are once again up in the gods. How do I get them down below the bookmarks toolbar and address bar? I've tried Userchrome and followed the 2017 video (which was very lcear by the way) that was recommended in Firefox support but it didn't work and I'm at my wits end. I hate this tabs on top thing and just want to put it back where it belongs. Please help?

One post said it has always been there, I can assure you I never had this before and do not want it now. Is there any way to stop it please as I hate it even though just clicking removes it, I would prefer not to have it in the first place

Since the last update to Firefox, cause it wanted to bugged me NON STOP, every time I restart my PC Firefox act's like it crashed giving me the " sorry. we’re having trouble getting your pages back. " and just not after starting the PC up and letting it sit there I saw a pop up saying Firefox has crashed even tho it was NEVER OPEN, but i guess something in 65.0.2 causing Firefox to run when the system boot that then crashes EVERY TIME. No crash report is saved as far as i can see tho.

Firefox used to be a GREAT tool. Now, it is LESS than great. Firefox previously would load a web page in very short order (never really timed it) but it was in seconds. NOW it is more like MINUTES and that is just when it starts to indicate the page is STARTING to show itself on the screen. Has YAHOO insert itself into your programming?

Hi

All other borowsers load youtube but not firefox it hangs on loading youtube on red like above at quarter fill and the buffering ring keeps en-circling like a shark. It has occured since update to Firefox version 65.0.2 on 64bit. Please fix this and kindly get back to me. I checked my router, dns, ethernet adapter etc. and all my pc's have this issue since this version of firefox came out. I am throughly fed up. Please get back to me asap. I am not a noob and have exhausted all possible troubleshooting steps. Refreshed firefox, reinstalled it after removing it with proper scrubbing software, checked the about:config everything I can possibly think of and even scoured the forums. I just spent 4 hours of my life trying to fix this and even did a previous windows backup restore to no avail.

At one point with this new firefox headache I managed to get my tabs on bottom but I had to do a refresh in order to get into my outlook email cause of a glitch.

Now I can't manage to get my tabs to go under the address bar. I did the whole chrome folder with the userchrome.css thing but I still cant get my tabs to go below my address bar.

Anyone have any idea what is causing this?

Its driving me up the wall not being able to have the browser how I want it.

The attached image should make it clear as to which lines I'm referring to.

I know about the .css file and I have some code in it. I think in particular to make bookmarks transparent, remove the line above a tab and move the tabs to the bottom.

I am using a theme but that doesn't seem to be the problem since when I switch to Light theme, the lines persist albeit in different color. I tried the Default theme, but it's the Dark one and everything is black.

So what code should I add to remove those lines ? Tell me if you want to see my entire css file. Not that it should matter though.

Last night I did the new firefox update and every since then I have been getting the following error on multiple sites. Including Tumblr, Google, yahoo mail, and many others.

"Network Protocol Error

Firefox has experienced a network protocol violation that cannot be repaired.

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because an error in the network protocol was detected.

   Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem."

I have tried searching out the answer on here and most said to just clear out the cache which is what I did and I am still receiving the error at random times on different sites. I can refresh and the site will load but then if I got to another page of the same website or a different site the error will just appear again. Thanks in advance!

I did some extensive googling to rid myself of this stupid "feature", but none of them has brought me any luck. How do I permanently delete this? I don't want it to give me any suggestions, nor do I want it to search. If I wanted to search I'd visit Google. All I want my adress bar to do is exactly nothing, except being there.

I've tried deleting the search engines in tools, or options or whatever it is you call it, one by one but it refuses to let me delete the last one; as though there MUST be an annoying search engine enabled. Please help me remove this, by force if needed.

Thank you.

I have enabled flash on the Flash Player Settings Manager. When I go to the site and try to access the controls, they do not populate with information completely. It works on every other browser but Firefox, so it must be a Flash issue with firefox. I'm using Firefox 65.0.2 64-bit on Windows 7.

Thanks for any suggestions!
