SO many issues with Firefox now! For one, it crashes quite a bit. I submit the crash report, and go from there. Keeps happening. But the main thing is this:

I go to "Options" and under "Privacy" it has "Never remember history" - I change it to "use custom settings for history", hit "ok" and then when I go back to it, it's back on "never remember history" already. What gives?

The issues I'm having right now is that I used to click on Print in my email (Yahoo) and pop-up blocker would stop it, but a dialog would pop up saying "try again", and I would hit that, and a separate window would open where I could print the email. Now, when I click on print, NOTHING happens. No box, no changes whatsoever. No pop-ups blocked, nothing at all. I mean, the button for "print" doesn't even react like I clicked on it. Nothing happens.

The other issue is that when there's a text box, if I start to type my email address, it suggests my email address. It never used to do this! I don't want this, either. How can I stop the suggesting of my email address. I don't want it to remember what I typed!

Another issue with Firefox is that when I click on the "menu" button in the top right, there's a question mark that says "open help menu" at the bottom. When I click on that, the help menu is EMPTY. I included a picture so you can see.

I've "reloaded Firefox", as well as downloaded another copy and actually reinstalled it. All these errors keep happening. How can I get them to stop or function correctly? What's causing them to work all wonky?

I use both Firefox and Chrome as my browser. Recently, Twitter has added a comment box when you Retweet a message but I only see this additional comments box when I access Twitter via Chrome. If I use Firefox I can only Retweet the original message. I have disabled all add-ons in case any of them is the cause but nothing has changed as far as Retweeting is concerned. I would like to add comments to Retweets in the final days of our election campaign, please help me stir it up.

Why is firefox all of a sudden using 2gigs of memory when I scroll on twitter or upload images to facebook causing me to crash? This never happened before!

Hello, My name is Alan M. Lubeski the Walt Disney World animator and imagineer. I have been using Firefox for years now and never had a problem. last week I noticed something strange started happening with the browser. When I scroll down on the Twitter followers page my browser would freeze and or crash. It also happens when I upload a large batch of files to my Facebook. I am not a computer expert but it seems anything with allot of images causes the browser to do this now. Could the browser be trying to cache every image on a page at the same time as it scrolls causing it to fill up 2 gigs of memory and then crash or freeze? I watched the task manager next to the browser as I scrolled down and as I scrolled down the memory usage for Firefox would just keep going up until it hits 2 gigs and then Firefox stopped working. I made sure it was not my add-ons, I did system maintenance and I ran several anti viruses and I made sure everything was up to date but there was zero issues and or reasons for this problem. I would hate to have to reinstall the browser because I have everything set up the way I want and need for work. I made no changes so I don't see a reason to go through all of that. I find it strange that this would just start happening on its own! Is there a real quick fix for this so that I can get back to work? I need my browser so I can manage my sites and upload my new art for my fans to see!

Recently the BBC revamped its News pages. When viewed on a Desktop PC with a screen resolution forced down to the equivalent of 1366x768 the smaller fonts look sharp.

However, if I view the same page on a laptop with a screen resolution of 1366x768 the fonts are distorted and broken. I have combined two screenshots to show the problem.

On the left of the image below is a closeup of the laptop view and on the right is the same page when viewed on a desktop with the screen resolution altered to give a vertical res of 768.

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/812217/Laptop_Desktop_Screenshot.png

I tried to upload an image but the hourglass just kept rotating. I have checked the font settings for both PCs are they are identical. So are the visual settings for Windows 7 on both PCs.

I tried searching to see if others have reported the problems I see but couldn't find anything. I'm baffled as to why the BBCsite would look so bad. I hope you can assist.

Thanks, Ray.

Suddenly two valid websites that I frequent are now considered by Firefox to have invalid security certificates, Airbnb.com and sanjoseca.gov (the City of San Jose's official website). The return page from Firefox states the certificates are invalid but NO "ADD EXEMPTION" is listed on the page as an option.

I have waited more than 10 minutes to upload the image and it still hasn't loaded. It has the Technical Details, and the "Get me out of here link" but no "add exemption" link.

I use Airbnb.com frequently and I need a stable interface with them. I contacted both companies and they both told me that they were not aware that their certificate wasn't being recognized by Firefox and that I should download and use Google Chrome instead.

This isn't the first time I've had issues with Firefox. Frequently when applying for a job online, the application forms are not properly exhibited in Firefox but are in Internet Explorer. This makes applying for work very difficult!

It's been 15 minutes and still the image hasn't loaded. I can't wait any longer. Please tell me how to fix this glitch. Thank you.

Recently in this week, when I open up Firefox, it automatically opens up a new tab and loads Bing. It originally only loads up my previous tabs, and only activates the one I was showing last time. It still does pretty much the same thing, with the one I was reading on my last visit activated, but it then opens up Bing. I didn't pay attention to it the first time, just got suspicious since I never used Bing(kinda hate M$ to begin with) so that wouldn't be my last site visited. I did checked and it is the real Bing and not a phishing site of a virus, and simply closed the tab. I started to get annoyed by the third time, so I got into about:config and deleted all the results that returned Bing. Just two of those and none seems to matter at all to my current situation. I made sure that google is my only search provider, closed the browser and restarted it, Bing didn't pop up that time so I thought I'm fine. But the next day, same thing happened again, and don't have any results in about:config with Bing. My homepage is a blank page, and my new tab page is the Firefox default one(with google and some of the sites I pinned. I have some plug-ins and add-on installed, but none are related to Bing, and I installed all of them quite long ago, so it doesn't seem to be a recent plugin that screwed me. And no, I am not stupid enough to have Bing bar installed and not noticed it.

I did a search in my about:support page, and it returned no "Bing" results, and the "Search" results returned 2, Tineye and google scholar. The only Microsoft addons I have is sharepoint and lync.

This thread on the forum, https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1038882, seems to be the closest to my situation, but none of the anwsers helped. If I open another Firefox window, it goes to the Firefox start page.

Thank you in advance to anyone who tries to solve this problem.

Repeated crashes, every time opened onpoint.wbur.org . Have exotic installation in Ubuntu 10.4.1, won't do regular install so unpacked new download in Download folder, made a link, and it finds the giant 550Mb profile in main Mozilla. OS somehow knows where it is, so updates or latest security fixes do work automatically. Crashed then with trying to play a VICE award video, got more common, now crashing often. Safe mode didn't seem to help. Either can unpack new 37.0.2 download in a different folder, see how that works, or do that "Refresh Firefox" button which creates a new Profile (I guess) and saves your data.. but then I will never know if I can delete the old one. Have very little space on this installation 7.5GB, 800MB max, and can't use too much more space.

Ubuntu Installation also it at very end of HD, and lappy suffered very hard drop without case recently. Also in hunted a movie torrent, got whacked with some virus (Linux DOES have viruses) that reset flash card drive name, almost trashed 100gb Data partition (unreadable till a couple of reboots), and messed up the BitTransmission torrent client, so may still have it, though ClamAV doesn't find anything. Is there online scanner for Ubuntu???

For files I have just saved, get an error box asking me to pick the app to use to open. But Firefox is greyed out.

For older files, when I click there is a visual animated "pop" (how the hell can I describe an animated thing ???) but the file does not open.

I want to clear all cookies on restart. I also want to be asked if I want to accept cookies from a site or not. In Linux and in previous versions of Windows Firefox, it works to have "Keep until:" set to "ask me every time," and my Clear history set so that everything in "History" is checked (including cookies) and everything in "Data" is not. But now my Cookie exceptions are clearing with the cookies at restart, instead of obeying the unchecked "Site preferences" under Data. How can I get it to behave as it did previously, which was in accordance with the settings, instead of an incorrect clearing of site preferences?

Ever since Firefox made Youtube videos only play in HTML5, no matter what quality setting I have on the video I'm watching, when I view the video on fullscreen it has low framerate. This problem does not happen with other video sites that uses Flash, like Twitch, Blip, or Dailymotion.

Is it software related to the browser or hardware related with it being HTML5?

Box says that that Firefox crashed. I did not. I shut it down. Box wants me to send error report. I did that a zillion times! I have no special settings for history or stuff like that. This all started with the update to 37.0. Updates 37.1 and 37.2 did not fix this issue either. My system is 64bit windows 8.1. This issue also happening on my laptop. That is windows 7, 32 bit machine. I did a refresh to my Firefox but that did not solve the problem either.

No matter what options I change (I tried everything under about:config, I even completely reinstalled firefox), html5 videos don't play (format not supported, wrong mime type etc.). On youtube however, the html5 player works fine.

Examples of videos not working: http://techslides.com/demos/sample-videos/small.mp4 http://techslides.com/demos/sample-videos/small.webm http://techslides.com/demos/sample-videos/small.ogv http://www.html5videoplayer.net/html5video/mp4-h-264-video-test/ http://www.webmfiles.org/demo-files/

My Win7 can play everything - I do not use Windows Media Player and normally keep those features deactivated but actually tried activating all Windows Media features (I normally use the K-Lite codec pack and in my desperation also tried CCCP). It did not help. Downloading the videos lets me play them without problems.

All my media.* preferences in about:config have the default value, and I tried changing stuff - the most that achieves is just disabling html5 videos entirely - which is not a solution.

I also deactivated all addons/plugins, I restored Firefox, uninstalled and reinstalled it, even tried the 64bit developer version.

https://html5test.com/ tells me that my firefox supports everything but DRM and MPEG-4 ASP under video. http://detectmybrowser.com/ tells me I can play ogg but not h264 or webm. https://www.youtube.com/html5 tells me my firefox supports everything youtube needs (if I flip media.mediasource.webm.enabled, of course).

Again, on youtube everything works (right-clicking the videos gives me the "About the HTML5 player" option), everywhere else (as far as I have seen) I get the "format not supported/wrong mime type error.

Firefox 37.0.2 on Windows 7, I started noticing the problem with the 37 update - I guess because firefox switched to html5 instead of flash as default? I've been using html5 on youtube since it became possible. Also, my plugin-container crashes whenever I close firefox, I have tried clearing cookies/history/cache (besides resoting/reinstalling, which should include this) since that was a suggested solution. The problem always comes back, no matter what sites were loaded. If I exit firefox only seconds after opening it the plugin-container might not crash. No idea if this is related to the html5 issue.

So, any ideas I can try to make html5 videos work?
