Since Firefox was upgraded to 68, I cannot download and save anything to C:\ I get Windows error "A required privilege is not held by client" Worked fine until I upgraded… (tuilleadh eolais)

Worked fine until I upgraded Firefox to 68. No other windows changes. (Windows 7) Other browsers have no problems, only firefox.
No extensions or add-ons of any kind being run. Problem only appeared after FireFox 68 update. Windows 7 useraccountcontrolsettings set to NEVER NOTIFY Tried to run FireFox as administrator, did not help. UAC set to disable (Always been like this) No other changes other than FireFox 68 update.

The Hotspot Shield add-on (v.3.4.18) no longer works. It was working yesterday (15 Dec 2019). The HSS icon in the toolbar is grey (i.e. VPN not switched on), while normally it is blue when Firefox is running. If I click on this icon, I see the HSS logo but I'm not taken to the control panel / user interface. See screenshot.
I tried:
- restarting Firefox and my PC (Win10, 64 bit),
- "refreshing" Firefox,
- reinstalling the HSS add-on and ensuring that it works in private browsing,
- contacting HSS directly (they only reply to "premium" users),
- going to the Mozilla help pages,
- and installing HSS add-on in Chrome (it works there).
Nothing has worked for Firefox so far. Any suggestions?

And through this process all bookmarks and settings appear to have been lost also. I have attempted to import and or locate bookmarks but the only thing which appears is NEWER INSTALLATION. Is there a way to find all bookmarks from previous FIREFOX used? Please help?

When I am in full screen mode (so that I can see the button way down at the bottom of the screen), then I want to put my mouse at the top and get the TAB bar, the SEARCH and TOOL bar and the Bookmark TOOL bar. When I move the mouse away from the top ALL three rows should hide again. Currently, two rows appear, TAB and Search and Tool bar.
