unable to turn off safe search when using Bing search. After clicking the more bars on the Bing search page and setting safe search to off, when checking if it is off, it has reverted to moderate. Firefox is vs 96.0.1. Setting is set to normal, not strict. Windows 10 preferences are set to safe search off. All caches have been cleared. I took off all extensions, ran malware bytes & cccleaner & anti-virus scan. I tried a refresh of Firefox. Nothing has helped.

Using Edge or Chrome browsers on the Bing search page, Safe search turns off as it should.

--There was a power failure, last night, which knocked off my computer.  That may or may not be related.  However, with both Edge and Chrome accessing Bing okay, it seems to definitely be a Firefox problem?

Problem: Firefox scrolls up to the top of page when I click on any video link on Tiktok site.

Details:

• Problem also exists in Private Window.
• I tried disabling all Extensions and it didn't help.
• Works normal only in Safe Mode.
• Tiktok works fine with other browsers.
• Page works normal 1 time after initial loading. I click on any video and it opens. When I exit video page and land back on video index, problem starts. Any mouse click (right,left and middle) makes FF jump to top of the page (even without scrolling. It's supposed to scroll just like when you press HOME on keyb.).
• 2 different behaviors on Tiktok Main Feed vs Tiktok User's Feed. On the Main Feed, when I click on a video, I see the page jumps to top but it opens the video link after a 1/2 sec delay. On the User's Feed, video link doesn't open. It just jumps to the top and does nothing.

Version: FF 96.0.3 (64-bit) for Desktop PC OS: Win 7 SP2

i am getting YAHOO! Gemini ads in my email inboxes when i log in with firefox version 96.0.3. on my imac running software version 12.2. When i log in via other devices the ads do not appear,

They always appear at the top of my inbox list, and when i double click them it takes me to the advertiser's web page.

I don't think it's malicious, but it's definitely annoying.

Is there any way to stop this crap???

Hi, Firefox is my preferred browser but I am having trouble logging into a site I use a lot. The site is Supercoach (https://supercoach.heraldsun.com.au) but when I try to log in it keeps telling me the user name or password is incorrect. I have tried clearing the cache with no success. I have no problem logging in with Chrome and Brave. Please advise, Ian.

Today I cannot get onto three of our websites using Firefox, but other people using different browsers *are* able to access them. Refreshing the pages, rebooting, and clearing the cache in Settings did not help. What do you think is causing the problem and how can it be resolved? Thanks.

I'd like to use the Startpage search as my default search in Firefox, instead of Google. And I mean the keyword-less search. I know what a search keyword is and I use several for special search engines (map, Wikipedia, dictionaries, parcel tracking, etc.). But the default search must work without any keywords.

And I want to use the custom settings they provide as URL parameters. I've tried with the cookie option but the cookie expires even after regular use. So the custom URL is the only working solution. Startpage support recommended me doing that.

I know that I can install the Startpage search to Firefox and it worked. But I can't combine it with the custom settings. So I uninstalled the extension, deleted the search engine and went to my custom startpage.com URL. Right-clicking the URL bar allowed me to add the search engine from there. But it also doesn't have my settings.

I couldn't find the search URL in about:config. Where is it stored? I need to change whatever Firefox thinks is Startpage's search URL to include my settings.

Changing the settings is critical because by default they open clicked results in a new tab which I cannot stand. I have enough open tabs, and there's still the back button.

I have been using the same custom theme for the past 3 years or so on both my windows 10 pro and dual boot Ubuntu 20.04. Recently, my windows 10 pro firefox started going into dark mode all of a sudden without me changing ANYTHING. The system theme and everything else stays the same. Then about 5 days later, my Ubuntu 20.04 firefox started to inherit this stupid dark mode as well. I have tried _ setting ui.systemUsesDarkTheme to 0 (number value) in about:config _ Changing to other custom color themes, and they all went into dark mode. _ Refresh Firefox _ Reinstall Firefox

When I went into "Ads on & theme" tabs, changing to system theme, it picks up the white theme mode. But Youtube webpage system theme mode pick up the dark theme mode.

After I log in to the Office and try to enter Word online (https://www.office.com/launch/word?auth=1) , I am constantly redirected to the home page , (https://www.office.com/?trysignin=0). I already deleted cookies and add-ons, reinstalled firefox

I don't why (as i have not altered any settings). But now when i use Mozilla firefox browser, a lot of websites are being displayed with a blark/dark background. I know it is the firefox browser as it does not do the same if i use other web browsers. I tried looking up the issue and solutions. All i could find was some suggestion that websites are displayed according to the settings on my PC i.e if it is set to light or dark mode. I checked this and the settings have not changed. Also as previously mentioned, then if that was the reason, surely the websites would display dark when using another browser. I have attached a screen shot of the twitter website as an example.

I'm having problems opening saved (archived) Facebook pages. The problem is the page opens without formatting or layout, just text and images.

I've had this problem before when I was using Firefox 68. The solution was to roll back a security patch by doing the following as proposed by jscher2000:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful or accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste uniq and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the privacy.file_unique_origin preference to switch the value from true to false

That had worked until recently. I checked "privacy.file_unique_origin" and its still has a value of 'false' but the webpages are not opening properly, even ones I saved over the last few years.

What can I do?

Hello/hi Yesterday (Feb1) I had a functional problem with my email site (provider = Orange). Sorting it out with the technician obliged me to refresh Mozilla (for various reasons I'm still on Wndows 7), even though I saw that I had the latest version. I believe that I ticked all the right bowes when doing the Refresh. When it had completed my Orange function duly worked again - but! I could no longer see my (quite extenive) Bookmarks. There's no loner any button to enable me to Bookmark a current page.. My efforts via the drop-down Get-Help-on-Bookmarks function have not worked either. So, please, I need your help! First of all , Hello  :) FF is a great wb and i use it everywhere i got a machine. Works fine everywhere .. but here on this computer. Why only on this machine ? Same distros ( linux mint 20.3 ) radeon video cards , amd family cpu's This machine is AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six-Core Processor × 6 the video card atm is AMD PITCAIRN (DRM 2.50.0, 5.4.0-94-generic, LLVM 12.0.0) though i had the same crash issue with a nVidia graphics card. Memory is Corsair and the memtest86 reports no errors. This is where i get a bit lost. Memory issues or hardware defects might explain this but where's one to begin ? Trouble is , no other application ever crashes and it's rock solid. So is FF to point a finger at or something else ? That's the objective of me submitting this report. Try to find out what's really at fault here and fix it.

The crashes happen at all times. It can also be right at starting FF and never even reaching the main window. I tried with and without the --safe-mode and it's the same that also happens.

Since there's so many i hesitate to put them all up , there's dozens since the system reinstall yesterday , i reinstalled the whole OS again yesterday to try to get rid of the bug. Any help to solve this once and for all will be highly appreciated . :) thanks for reading

hi in ff i lost a folder, one of the bookmarks that only that folder contains still appears in a search so its not deleted. have done this before and always find folder has just gone inside another folder tried undo control

have tried some posted instructions but they are out of date so cant be followed thanks for any ideas m

Since I upgraded to "96.0 (64-bit)", most news/media sites force me to login in every time, even though - the specific login is saved in "Logins & Passwords" - "Ask to save logins and passwords for websites" is checked, with no exceptions - "Autofill logins and passwords" is checked - automatic login worked before the latest Firefox upgrade What else should I look at? Thank you.

Hello, Can someone please tell me how to stop my "search bar" text from also showing up in my "address bar"? I have search the internet and found all of the following ways that have been suggested that have not worked.

I read that I should set the following to "false" to solve my problem.

1) keyword.enabled 2) browser.fixup.alternate.enabled 3) browser.urlbar.suggest.surches

I have also gone into the settings menu and un-checked everything I could find about suggestions or words or anything else being added to the address bar. The only thing that should show up in and address bar is................you guessed it: AN ADDRESS!  :-) Thanks so much for your help.

I saw this topic in a couple of places on the forum, but the posts are from 2014/15, and some things have changed since then. Some updated instructions would be appreciated! I'm particularly concerned about my bookmarks.

Also, does it matter whether I had the same version of Firefox before and after the refresh? I'm not 100% sure that I did. Thanks.

When I turned my computer on this morning the back ground on the home page is black. If I remove the add-ons it will be white. But if I put a add on back on it is black again and I can't see it good.
