I have run across threads with similar questions in both mozilla support and reddit, but as they are old and archived I cannot add additional info or request clarification, so here is (yet another) new one- I understand you can go into manage data in settings to delete what you want, however in mine it only shows a handful of most recent (opened today or currently open) since my settings clears history and deletes cookies upon exiting ff.

Cookies and Site Data section shows only 40.7mb of data is stored and in Manage Data only shows 8 sites... Clear Data area, with only these two boxes selected (attached) and 'everything' (time) still only around 50mb. My storage/default folder has 1005 folders and the data is over 1.5gb; I would like to manually delete all of this and as others have tried to ask, am wondering if this is ok to manually select them and delete in windows, or using windows %appdata%(?) and if so, will the sync feature (if I just clicked 'sync now') still retain all my bookmarks when I relaunch ff? Not concerned about any browsing/form history or passwords, only bookmarks.

Firefox 139.0.1 (64-bit) on Windows 11

I occasionally increase the zoom level of websites (usually forums) with Ctrl+mouse wheel if the default text size is too small. However, if I forget to set them back to 100% (Ctrl+0) before closing the tab, the next time I open that URL, it's at the former adjusted zoom level -- not 100%. Really annoying.

How do I force Firefox to open all URLs at 100% regardless of the last custom zoom level? I have default zoom already set to 100% in Settings and Zoom Text Only is not enabled.

I have the box ticked in Settings for previous tabs to be installed on Startup but it isn't happening although it used to. I was trying to get rid of caches (what are they?) and must have done something.

I had a background image for the new tab page that has suddenly stopped working, it just displays a white screen. I clicked the 'reset to default' button next to 'Wallpapers' on the new tab page to try to fix the problem but nothing happens. No wallpapers show up under that section either where it used to be when it was working. I've restarted Firefox and the same thing happens. I have not enabled any third party CSS wallpaper.

Apart from that, everything else is working as it should. I'm sort of a computer-idiot so if anyone could please use layman's terms it would be very much appreciated!

It would be great if FF could support multiple dictionaries depending on the detected language of the typing. More and more of us are using multiple languages, and I think it's a real benefit for FF to support this feature.

I'm digging up this topic because I'm very interested in this feature (and I think many are).

In the section: "Select text to see suggested prompts" there is a screenshot which shows pre-written prompts and a textbox from the shortcut for AI prompts menu. Is it possible to have custom promts which are added to this menu?

I've been using and enjoying Firefox for years on my various Windows machines. I've just purchased a Ubuntu Linux Thinkpad and have installed and used Firefox for a few days. It's generally working well except at start-up. Apparently it tries but can't restore the previous session, even though I have not selected "Open previous windows and tabs" ??

I am using lastest version on Windows and Linux (133.0) but I did notice the settings/options are a bit different in Linux, but I would just like to set my Linux FF to do same as Windows FF on startup, that is just two open tabs: - Gmail opened as a pinned tab. - Google Search as the open tab with focus I've attached a snip of the relevant section in General Settings How do I set this up in Linux? The answer - on my win11-64 anyway - is to resart windows explorer with a batch file - which you run everytime the taskbar bug occurs. Every thing is magically fixed. Until it isnt. Then repeat.

I've been using Firefox for a few months now to follow online training courses or videos on the conversation papillon (www.conversationpapillon.com) and conversation santé (www.conversationsante.com) websites. For a few weeks now, the videos are no longer accessible on the pages of these two sites. The window of the video is empty. However, if I try the same link in Google Chrome, it works fine. I've contacted the publishers of these two sites, who tell me that nothing has changed on their sites in recent weeks. He advised me to contact you to find out more. Can you help me? Version: Firefox 129 Ubuntu/Debian I'm using the Proton theme in Firefox and would like to revert the tabs to their previous, non-floating style. I've tried using the [profile]/chrome/userChrome.css method and enabling toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets, but this hasn't worked. Is there another way to achieve this? Why the focus on the search bar on the homepage and new tab automatically shifts to URL bar? I hate this. I cannot find any option to change this. Vivaldi gives us an option to decide what we want unlike Firefox.

Chrome focuses on the search bar on the new tab regardless, duckduckgo browser does same, edge does same, opera does same, Brave does same and Vivaldi does same but gives us option in the settings as in the image below. But Firefox automatically forces it. Why? Looks so cheap.

How to change this? I dont want this. I cannot see what I am typing when it shifts to smaller bar on the URL bar from the search bar.

And most importantly, I cannot change the new tab or homepage with any other search engine, like Duckduckgo or Ecosia or Brave Search, if I had any search engine addon from addon store. Chrome has no such BS show. If I am using Google, then new tab and homepage is of Google. But if I use any search, I have to suffer with underdeveloped same old FF new tab and homepage. Is this intentional or forced?

Edge is opening randomly, might be going back until this is user controlled.

I have two computers. Both sign into the same Firefox account. Both instances of Firefox are the same version (134.0.1 64-bit).

On my main computer, creating a new tab is set to Firefox Home (default), and clicking the "+" sign to create a new tab results in the recommendations appearing as seen in the first image (firefox_2025-01-19_17-42-57.png)

How to I get both instances of Firefox to do the same thing when creating a new tab, i.e. organize the recommendations like the second image?

I've been seeing this more and more, but my toolbar will change by itself every restart. The add tab button will shift all the way to the left or not appear, the bookmarks won't appear, etc. I'm not sure what can be causing this, and I saw no way to "save" my current configuration other than pressing the done button upon using the custom toolbar, which I had done every time prior to fix my configuration. Does anybody know why this is occurring, and a possible fix? Thank you

Is there a way to make Firefox open the link in Google Maps in the browser? Does anyone know where Mozilla wallpapers are stored? I wanted to set a wallpaper from Mozilla's menu as the desktop wallpaper on my laptop. I looked for hidden files and checked the forums, but I can't find them in the given locations e.g. my profile. Maybe these files are masked somehow. I'm looking for particular wallpaper from the abstraction category (screenshot). Can anyone tell me how to find it?

I cannot seem to find what it is called, but only web design related stuff to scrolling.

I'm looking to change the behavior of scrolling bar, that lets me click a point and the page stops at that point, whereas right now, it keeps scrolling to the end/top of the page (based on the direction relative to the starting point). I find the behavior pretty annoying and something that used to be done by the buttons on either end point.

Is this a relic of the past or can i opt-in to it through the config

Recently a new sidebar appeared on Firefox on my desktop. I actually really liked the change because I have wanted to move my tabs to the side for a while. I had tree style tabs installed and I was a little annoyed that I couldn't disable the tabs on the top bar. But now I can!

My laptop however does not have the new sidebar yet and when I look for updates it says there aren't any. My laptop has limited screen space and I much prefer to have this new ui choice but I can't enable it. I understand that they probably update new designs in batches to test the waters but is there a way to get around it and enable it on my laptop too?

I use the same Firefox account for both so it seems a little counterintuitive to have different experiences on different devices on the same account.

Also very much thank you for this change! It's something I've wanted for a while. I also have one little suggestion and that is to have the option for a similar feature to tree style tabs on the sidebar tab layout.

My problem is that in new versions of Firefox (from 115) there is no way to enter numeric values ​​using the mouse wheel. The browser simply scrolls the entire page. In older versions this problem does not exist.

I tried to compare the settings about:config but did not succeed. There must be some parameter responsible for this.

In fact, they force you to update by deprecating certificates, but it is becoming more and more difficult to use :(
