The new version, 89.0.1, has removed the contrast and separation of the tabs, making it hard to read now. Why?

I don't mean to be rude, but if you could get the decision-makers who authorize drastic changes to the appearance of the browser when a new release comes out to just stop "fixing" things that aren't broken, that would certainly satisfy me. I'm not picky about color schemes and "themes", but now the browser is difficult to read, and it wasn't before. I need to know how to restore the appearance of my browser to be the same as in the previous version, or I'll finally have to quit Firefox after all these years and switch to a different one. I don't want to have to do that, but I don't think I can manage to deal with this new hard-to-read low-contrast version. I'm sure someone thought this design looked "cool", and was therefore an improvement. I don't want to stifle anyone's creativity, but the browser I use has to be easier to read. Maybe the next release will offer a choice between the "look and feel" of the previous version versus this one. Thanks for considering my problem (and it is a problem for me), and I'll keep my fingers crossed.

When I open a new tab and then search, and then try to search with google then search option does not provide me results. or if I try to even open google through the tab, Firefox does not provide me any results. This started happening recently. I have tried clearing the cache and cookies and the issue resolves for a bit and then starts again. I even have removed and tried a fresh install of firefox and I am still seeing the same results. I need help as this is getting annoying.

Hello My desktop Firefox (iMac) did an automatic update and now I have the floaty tab redesign and I intensely dislike it. Is there a way to make the tabs look like how they did before? I am so unhappy. It's ugly and I can't tell the tabs apart very well (they have no dividing graphics). I am this close ---><--- to Time Machining myself back to the previous Firefox version. Help? Thanks Elizabeth

I run FF on both a Windows machine and a MacBook Pro. On the MBP the browser does not save my tabs, despite "restore previous session" being selected. I do not have this problem on the Windows machine.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the browser but it has not made a difference.

I'm running the latest version of the browser and the OS is Big Sur.

With today's Firefox update, the edges of the tabs, that allow me to visually distinguish between the multiple tabs that I always have open, disappeared. Now, it is only the font/text that is visible when looking at my browser's multiple tabs. The edges have disappeared, only showing up as a faint shadow when I hover the pointer over a tab. And depending on the name listed on the tab, this makes it very difficult to distinguish one tab from another. This change to the way that Firefox looks is making it difficult for me to maneuver between tabs, and get my work done.

I tried changing colours, as well as the different themes, but in all cases, the edges remain invisible. Attached is a screen image of the different colour/themes, showing that in every case, the edges of the tabs remain invisible.

Is there a way to bring the edges back into view? Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Hello Mozilla Community,

While selecting all my tabs to move some of them to another window, I misclicked and it opens them all twice.

Immediately after I made the mistake to accept closing what I thought was the doublons, but instead it closed them all except for the few doublons remaining.

There were many important tabs opened months ago, that's why I'm asking help.

I don't know what happened but I found this thread (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1310742) and followed some of the steps.

I managed to recover the recovery_backlzk4 in excellent state from around twenty minutes before the problem, and tried to read the URLs from it with this person's tool: https://www.jeffersonscher.com/ffu/scrounger.html

It did not work, so I don't know what to do.

Can someone explain me if there is still something to do about it or not?

Thank you very much

I have my Firefox settings to open search results links in a new tab. I can get this to happen with Google, but I *rarely* use it. I prefer Bing. My settings are for links to open in a new tab, and they won't do that with Bing.

I have read what others have suggested about fixing this problem. I made changes in about:config with no result. I opened in Firefox safe mode and didn't find anything on my own. Will check out any tips though.

This has only recently become an issue. I know that Ads have always opened in the same tab and I do not care to right-click or use ctrl.

Another issue I suddenly had with the latest new design update was that when I used the Bing search box, it started switching to an address bar search. I was able to fix that.

Anyone know a sure cure?

It seems to have a more transparency look to it making it harder to see the tabs. How do I change the tab bar look to what it used to look like, which was easier to see? Can someone help? Thank you.

I use the session restore option, but when I open a new firefox window (by detaching a tab) and forget to close last the window with most tabs, the restored session is the single tab that I detached. This has happened a couple of times, but I can't remember exactly how to solve it, just that there was an action that would 'pop out' the previous session, like opening a new window and closing the last tab there. any tips?

Hello,

I was wondering if there is any way to increase the font size of the tabs and the bookmarks bar in Firefox. I'm using macOS Catalina, and the text appears tiny, making it very difficult to read.

I have found the following suggested fixes, but neither provides a satisfactory solution:

Theme Font & Size Changer: appears to have lost most of its functionality in the newer versions of Firefox.

'Changing the layout.css.devPixelsPerPx value in about:config: this does indeed scale the size of the tab and bookmarks text, however, I'm using two screens, and the scaling does not match between the two. When the font appears big enough on my attached screen, weirdly the font on my laptop screen becomes even smaller than at the default -1 value. And if I increased it to the right size on my laptop screen, it become ginormous on my attached screen (see attached screen shots).

Any solution to save my poor eyes from straining would be appreciated,

Best wishes,

Veronika

So, I know this isn't the most important question to ask out there, but... so, up until recently, the tab history when you left-click the back button, would show several columns of history, but now.. it's only one. And I used the function a lot before, but now it's... kinda not serving the purpose I used it for, so is there any way to revert it? In the settings or something. Sorry, thank you.
