Hi Firefox Team

I am very happy to use this browser as it serves all my needs perfectly! So thanks you for that.

The issue I have is about the updates. Whenever Firefox updates, I lose the sites saved on it. I have no issues with that.

However, can you give me the option to select a time and date for it?

That way I can, 1) Select a time when I am not working on Firefox. 2) Coordinate with other updates like Windows and McAfee.

This will ensure that I am prepared for the sites to disappear just once, instead of every time there's an update.

Thanks, Kajal

Experiencing lots of stuttering while playing video with Firefox 83.0 on Windows 10. Happens with Disney+, Netflix and YouTube. Microsoft Edge (Chromium) on the same system works without any issues with all of these.

Tried to enable / disable hardware acceleration, webGL and some other settings people are commenting on forums, to no avail. Tried updating video drivers, using different settings including frequency / resolution, none of these had any effect on the issue.

Windows 10 version used was 1909. Will try again after upgrading to 20H2 and post back if anything changes.

Trivia: also tested Opera, which suffers from the same problems. Common video codec with Firefox, maybe?

Hello There is this glitch with YouTube where whenever I click on a YouTube video, it redirects to to a Post instead of the video

I have fixed the problem by right-clicking the video title and opening a new tab for each video, but I was wondering if there is a more convienient solution

Firefox won't show photos on Yahoo websites. I'm using Windows 10. I can see the first photo of an article but the rest of the article shows blank rectangles. I've researched this online, and I see that more than a few are having this problem. I finally exported my bookmarks and deleted Firefox, using the Programs section of the Control Panel. I followed instructions from a "Sunshare" website. The instructions also said to go to File Explorer > Users > Isumsoft Li and remove a couple of app data files - there is no Isumsoft folder though. I'm also instructed to go to Program Files and remove the Mozilla Firefox folder, and there is no such folder that any of my searches show.

So anyway I deleted and reinstalled Firefox, restarted my PC, and I still have the same problem. I'd definitely like to keep using Firefox because of privacy but I'll have to find another browser if I can't get it to work.

I don't know why the upgrades I've installed won't address this problem, but that's not relevant to this post. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? Greatly appreciate any help here.

When firefox is in full screen mode, as soon as I take my mouse cursor to switch tabs the Mac Os action bar (bar with close and minimize icons on it ) covers the tabs and make it hard to switch tabs, same happens while reaching for address bar which extremely annoying and frustrating.

I see other applications handles it really well for this situation so its not the macos issue. I reported this on twitter too but no satisfying response. I like firefox and don't want to switch back to other browser so please fix this. This issue is extremely frustrating and impacts the core functionality of the firefox or browser in general.

I have attached images from Chrome and source tree, both are third party application. Best handling of this action is done by safari, which smoothly animate and make the space for close and minimize buttons along with the tabs but that's a first party app and not sure if the same can be achieved by third party apps.

I am running Big Sur but this was happening even in Catalina.

Thank you!

I use Firefox on a daily basis. It's open 24/7 on my PC and has 7 pinned tabs because I use them all almost everyday - they are mostly e-mail. It's set to auto-update and I think it recently updated to version 80. Ever since Facebook announced the removal of Facebook Classic and rolled out a Messenger update yesterday, I have been getting weird memory-related issues. Since I don't use Firefox exclusively, I just minimize it but it's always running. When I maximize it back to use it, the Facebook pinned tab does something crazy and all my other software start complaining that Windows ran out of memory and sometimes even crashing them though Firefox doesn't and the Facebook page looks garbled like its CSS gets corrupted. I am using the new Facebook - the one that looks like an app - in Dark Mode. The issue only happens when I use Facebook. The issue started happening yesterday.

Important note: this only started happening yesterday. The only thing that changed was the update to Firefox 80 and the roll out of the new Facebook Messenger update. This PC is rarely shut down. Also, when I am using the network (like downloading games from Steam or Epic Games or GOG Galaxy), the issue worsens and Explorer crashes and closes everything in my notification area.

Current workaround: I closed the Facebook pinned tab and everything seems to be working fine.

Specs: Firefox version 80 (no plugins) Windows 10 version 2004 Core-i7 4790K, 32Gb RAM, SSD + 19 Terabytes total HDD NVidia RTX 2070 Super with latest Game Ready drivers

Hello. Is there a possibility to swap the destinations of mouse shortcuts? I am asking this because of i want all links open with new tabs. I have read the article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1205311, the extension that the expert recommends does not work as expected, but middle click works perfect everywhere. I am sorry if I doubled the known question, but i failed to find anything clear. Thank you.

So, I've been using the Picture-in-Picture feature of Firefox a lot - when it works well, it's a really useful feature, especially if, like me, you use a second screen to play the video on, but don't like the overlay constantly popping up over the video. And, when the video is in a modern, widescreen aspect ratio, it usually works.

The problem is that when I try to watch, in fullscreen, a video that's in a 4:3 ratio, as many are on Netflix, Amazon and the like, the Picture-in-Picture window will often, presumably registering the black space on either side, zoom right into the video, cutting off a massive portion of the frame and filling the screen completely. Sometimes it doesn't do that at all, sometime it can be fixed by restarting the video and fiddling with the timings and sometimes there's just seemingly nothing I can do and it just will not stop doing it, no matter how much I reload or what I do!

Please tell me how I can get the damn thing to just keep the video in place and stop it deciding "Hey! You don't need to see all of the video, do you?! No, of course you don't!"

While trying to fix Firefox's massive memory leaks, I went to Help/Troubleshooting/Add-Ons and found these, which are NOT in the usual Manage Add-ons page:

Amazon.com extension Bing extension

ClearURLs extension <-- Oops! I actually installed this, to try to trim URLs of all the tracking crap when I paste one into a Facebook comment.

DuckDuckGo extension eBay extension Wikipedia (en) extension

All of the other extensions listed are ones I installed and wish to keep. EVERY time I install Firefox, I go to the One-Click Search Engines list and remove all but Google.

I don't know how these wormed their way in, but they don't seem to add any functionality for me.

Issue: the bookmark toolbar arrow (the one that shows bookmarks that don't fit on the toolbar) is gone from my browser, and the toolbar itself seems truncated (only like 7/8 of the toolbar is filled).

I didn't change any settings or installed any add-ons that could have to do with this. It just disappeared one day, I didn't even notice it at first.

What I tried:

  • I launched Firefox in safe mode, didn't fix it
  • I removed my userChrome.css file, didn't fix it
  • when I cut the bookmarks and paste them into the toolbar, the arrow shows, but when I relaunch the browser it is gone again

See photo for what it looks like (ignore the anonymous favicons, I changed them temporarily with userChrome to preserve privacy, but without userChrome the issue still stands).

Anyone has an idea what happened and how to fix this? Thanks.

When I go to one site, Firefox is now asking me microphone permission on every page on that site during the same session.

This did not happen until two days ago. It used to be when I granted permission for my microphone to be used on that site, it applied to every page on it throughout the session, as long as I did not close out, sign out or close the window. Now, every time I go to speak, when on a new page, it asks for permission. Since this is a language learning site, this has become a real pain.

There is no "remember this setting" dialog either when I first give permission to use the microphone. It is asking for permission for the general site, so it's not asking for each page. When I check the permissions box after moving to the next page, no permissions are granted.

Nothing that I can tell has changed. It's not doing this with other browsers, which is concerning.

I checked my settings site and nothing has changed. I also did Firefox refresh and that did not help. Signed off and signed in again, on both the laptop and website -- all did not change this.
