It's only when scrolling slowly, a quick PgDn & PgUp will clear it, but it's very annoying. I feel certain it's a windows bug and don't really want to dig all thru my settings as if it's "not" a windows problem. I have screenshots with & without the blackness, where do I paste those?

Hi everyone!

I've been experienced an issue on my new laptop: in Firefox, on every website, It became very laggy when I scroll through a page and when I use "Energy Saver" Windows's power plan. Is there a fix?

I don't think that my hardware is the issue, there is:

Dell XPS 15 Platinum (9530) with Windows 8.1, i7-4702HQ at 2,2/3,2 GHz, 16 GB Ram, Nvidia 750M GT (2GB DDR5) and 512Go Samsung SSD.

Hello,

I have been having constant problems with Firefox and Windows 8. What will happen is that Firefox will lock up my entire computer piece by piece until I am unable to interact with anything, after 1 - 2 minutes, the system will work again. Checking event logs shows nothing. The system does not crash but simply slows everything down until no movement is possible then it works. I honestly do not know how to fix this and any advice from anyone will be helpful. Below is a list of everything that I have done. It will happen with one tab or multiple tabs. It will happen on ANY site.

Specs: Windows 8.1 Pro 64-Bit AMD FX 8120 CPU 16GB DDR3 1066 120GB SSD Boot Drive 6870 2GB Video Card

Completely reinstalled Windows. - One of the first applications (after drivers of course) was FF. Started happening almost immediately. Upgraded from Windows 8 to 8.1 - No Change Disabled HW acceleration - No change Enabled HW acceleration - No Change Changed Flash to click to enable - No change Updated BIOS - No Change Updated video card drivers - No Change Set FF to run as admin - No Change Disabled C State in my CPU - No Change Ran FF in comparability mode - No Change Updated sequentially to other FF versions - No Change

This is pretty infuriating when I am trying to work. I love FF and although I am OK using IE, and have no issues there.

Please help!

For the past week, I've gotten several pop-ups asking me to "Please update your browser". The thing is, I checked my Firefox properties and it says that my browser is up-to-date. According to my "About Firefox", I am running Version 26.0 and it is "up to date".

I took a screenshot of the pop-up page, but there isn't a place here to upload it, so I'm going to try to use tinypic to show the screenshot... I apologize if it doesn't work.

Has anyone experienced this too? Or does anyone know whether this is valid or a malware/virus? Thanks for any help, I appreciate it.

After a Firefox reset, under help, attempting to search google from the search bar gets

Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified. What Should I Do? If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.

The certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided.

I've been trying to change the Firefox/Nightly icons to a custom icon that will show in the taskbar. I've tried using resource hacker to fix it, but after I restart my computer or wait long enough the changes will disappear and the icons will go back to normal.

The icon for the firefox.exe in the programs will change to the icons I want once I use resource hacker, but when I turn my computer back on they go back to the default ones. Is there a way to change the icon "permanently" and still be able to change it back when I want it back?

Thanks.

I've come across an issue in FF v31 whereby Youtube videos aren't playing. It seems to be only Youtube as videos in Bing, Vimeo and other streaming video players that use Flash play without any issues. Youtube plays fine in IE and Chrome (though it is slow in Chrome) but not in Opera. I've tried running FF with no add-ons, and also tried resetting FF but neither have worked. Weirdly, Youtube will work fine in FF if I connect to the internet using a VPN.

I'm stumped, and haven't found a solution online. Can anyone help?
