On the Total Adblock site it gives these directions for removing the program: "Mozilla Firefox Uninstalling Adblock from your Mozilla Firefox browser is very simple and can be done within a few clicks. Go to the Extensions Page on Mozilla Firefox copy this link into the address bar of your browser:about:addons

Find Total Adblock within your plugins . Click the 3 Dots. Click Remove."

I do not know where the "extensions page" is. Nor where to find it. While I have been using personal computers for decades, I am still a complete beginner when it comes to any technical jargon. If someone would kindly give me directions in English about getting rid of this annoying extension/program? I would deeply appreciate it.

I'd like to remove excessive whitespace between UI items.

How do I reduce the height of menu items, the toolbar, and the tab bar to something closer to the height of the text and icons, instead of nearly twice the needed height?… (tuilleadh eolais)

How do I reduce the height of menu items, the toolbar, and the tab bar to something closer to the height of the text and icons, instead of nearly twice the needed height?

The title bar and menu bar are correct, as shown in the screenshots (this is the account with the most bookmarks). Both the bookmarks and history menus run into the bottom of the screen before showing a reasonable number of items, which is where the problem starts impacting productivity.

I found a discussion of a previous problem, dated 5/29/2021, but it ended with handwaving about "editing css" and "keep me posted", i.e. the problem wasn't solved. If I need to edit userchrome.css or some other related file, I'd like to know what file to edit, what lines to look for, and what to change them to.

Ad-filtering Firefox add-ons (uBlock Origin, AdBlock, etc.) are blocked in China on addons.mozilla.org

Firefox starts blocking uBlock Origin and other ad-blocking add-ons in China on addons.mozilla.org ?

Recently [1], some users reported that uBlock Origin [2], AdGuard AdBlocker [3], AdBlock For Firefox [4], and AdNauseam [5] were restricted from being accessed by users in mainland China.

When users in mainland China try to access the above ad-filtering add-ons on addons.mozilla.org, the website returns 451 Unavailable For Legal Reasons instead of the normal 200 OK response, and the body of the page states "This page is not available in your region".

The facts can be validated by reproducing the test results below.

By the way, this has nothing to do with China's "great firewall". This action of blocking was performed by Firefox in China. Firefox in China has a long history of arbitrarily blocking websites even for non-political or legal reasons and was found guilty by the Court in China back in 2018 for several such cases.

Sources and evidences: [1] According to Blocky's test logs, restricted access initially began no earlier than March 8, 2022 and no later than March 19, 2022. Users report: https://bgme.me/@bgme/107986773834355287

The same testing results can be reproduced by testing the below URLs from a China mainland IP address or blocky.greatfire.org which uses multiple China mainland IP addresses in different cities.

I'm using Windows 10 and Firefox 97.0 x64. It was working just fine for a long time now, but I shut down my computer and when I turned it back on Firefox would load, but I couldn't navigate to any webpage not could I pull up about:config or anything.

I tried uninstalling it, restarting it, uninstalling Microsoft Visual C++ redistribute 2015 x86 and x64. Nothing worked.

I then installed the x86 version of Firefox and it was able to load pages. Any ideas on how I can get Firefox 64-bit working on my PC again?

To the best of my knowledge I have not added any new extensions any time recently.

This is really getting annoying. Again the 4k and 8k videos on Youtube are stutturing, saw some some improvement with Firefox 87 at least on the 4k videos. For example this video in 8k does not work at all, audio works fine and it stutters totally showing a single different frame every 10 secs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LxsViMm25o&t=54s&ab_channel=AroundTheWorld4K . My pc is running Win 10 64-bit, 8gb of ram and all with all drivers\os up to date. As usual no issue with Google Chrome while reproducing the above video in 8k.

CPU Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2400S CPU @ 2.50GHz 4 Cores GPU - AMD Radeon R7 200 Series with 2gb.

Pls fix.

I have been having an issue, since just before the update to 100, where Google sites stop responding. Gmail will display banner at the top "OOPS - The system encountered a problem...", Google search from the search bar will do nothing, Google Maps will not load and any google web page will not load or refresh. Closing Firefox and restarting it will fix the issue, temporarily. At first I thought it was any web page, but I have tested other search engines and web pages, using Firefox while the Google pages are unresponsive, and it is limited to Google pages. I can open the affected Google pages with Edge, while Firefox is still "locked out".

Has anyone else noticed this issue?

Currently, I have configured my Privacy & Security settings in which all third-party cookies are blocked. This causes certain websites to break and become nonfunctional.

How do I configure my settings to which all third-party cookies are blocked by default, but for specific websites I choose they are not blocked?

I do not want to change my settings in which cookies are blocked only from websites I have not visited; because there are some websites I frequent that I still wish to block third-party cookies.

Thank you

I have been a "light theme" user for 15+ years. Since updating to 96.0 today, a dark mode spreading across Firefox has been forced onto me, including:

  • New tab background
  • Background of any tab waiting to load a page
  • Google/Youtube background
  • Settings/add-ons/password menu backgrounds
  • Automatic username/password drop-down background
  • Background of the little box that appears on the bottom-left (the one which shows the URL when you mouse over a link)

I am unhappy with this and wish to have my usual theme back. Can anyone please assist?

(In addition, there is some sort of white border around the current tab, which I do not like)
