I dunno if I am asking something unique or not but can I block a website using Firefox Settings? I keep getting this frigging site popping up that although it says it's a Firefox add on, it's not! (translatorforfirefox.blogspot.com//p/whats-new.html)

I had setup file association for html files to Firefox on Windows 10. Recently, when I tried to run Belarc Advisor, I received an error message saying:

XULRunner Error: Platform version '78.0.2' is not compatible with minVersion <= 78.0.1 maxVersion <= 78.0.1

I am able to temporarily resolve it by changing html file associations to Chrome but it seems like the issue is with Firefox installations. I had previously inquired about issues with Firefox automatic updating and was advised to do a complete install. I did that and am at version 79.0 at this time.

The following post indicates that XULRunner errors are caused by "Incomplete Update: The main reason for this error is an incomplete installation/update of the Firefox browser. Firefox is usually set to automatically install updates and this process can be interrupted because of bad internet or a sudden system shutdown or an antivirus. Whenever this happens, your Firefox update doesn’t install completely and leaves you with an installation with a mixture of old and new updated files in the Firefox program folder."

Is their solution the best approach to cleaning up this update issue?

I had 3 windows with lots of tabs open and firefox only restored half of them. It's taking me a lot of time to go through history and finding the ones I lost and restoring them. I closed all firefox windows on exiting, verifying for each one to close the tabs, and yet this still happened when I restarted. I noticed afterwards that under options, under general, restore session was unclicked?? I have no recollection of doing that or any reason I would. I also saw that the sub box to warn me when closing tabs was also unclicked. Again, I would never unclick it and have no recollection or reason to have been fiddling with all that.

The only other thing is when first rebooting as I was going to history to restore sessions a Norton tab (I have Norton 360) popped up. I restored history and half of my stuff was gone. Does anyone have any idea of what's going on here?

Hi, I frequent a telehealth site which has a video element on it that displays the other users outgoing webcam video stream, you know, like a zoom chat but built into an angular application I am accessing using Firefox. I am wondering why I do not get the option to send the video to PIP in Firefox? ... I do get the option in Chrome.

Is there some criteria that the video must meet in order to allow PIP? For instance, is PIP not allowed on a video stream that has no defined "end"?

Hello all, I have been trying to download a video from YouTube. It runs for over an hour. When clicking on the grapes at the top RHS I get a load of options which I don't understand like wmv,mp4 etc. The times given go from a few Kb to 29Mb which is more realistic for what I want to download. I can't understand why you would only want to download a few Kb of a long video.

Of all the options given which one is the correct one to download what I am watching on the screen? I did get it to record for about 10 minutes then the whole computer just crashed out and shut down. Why? I have also downloaded the odd short video but there is no sound. Other times I get a download symbol in the downloads folder but it's empty and I can't delete it. To play videos I am using VLC.

I am not having much luck with this and I need help please. By the way, please keep replies basic as I am not a computer expert.

I just installed Firefox onto a new laptop, but the Bookmarks Toolbar shows the generic "globe" icons for most of my webpages, instead of the page-specific icons.

I am logged in an synced with my other devices that use Firefox.

For the Send websites a "Do Not Track" signal that you don't want to be tracked, one of the options is "Only when Firefox is set to block known trackers".

How do I set Firefox to block known trackers? How do I set Firefox to not block known trackers?

Is having Enhanced Tracking Protection ON the same thing as having Firefox set to block known trackers? So if I turn OFF Enhanced Tracking Protection, Firefox will no longer be set to block known trackers?

Hi, I'm saving login information through Firefox / Firefox Monitor however I'd like to know why, whether I'm signed in, or especially after I've signed out of Firefox, all my login information is fully accessible with two simple clicks.

Should this not be protected when you're NOT signed in? ...or at least require a password should something need to be updated?

I understand there's the master password however, after reading various posts, I don't think it'll solve the issue.

I tried to connect to https://vlab.amrita.edu/ however it shows me this error "An error occurred during a connection to vlab.amrita.edu. PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR.

I tried various soln. :

• Selecting DNS over HTTPS and auto-detect proxy setting
• Disabling every addon and Kaspersky
• change security.ssl.enable_ocsp_stapling to false

The site is working fine in Firefox Android. I am running Firefox 79 (Windows 10)

When trying to open the Metamask addon it only shows the pop-up window blank. I've been in contact with Metamask support, showed them the background logs and they say the problem seems to be local. Hoping to find help here.

How do I get onto the server? to rectify this or gain access to TV guides? Seems strange to be locked out to acess TV information?

Firefox has been good to me and i love it. Been using it as my primary web dev browser but it has increasingly been brought to my attention the need for better CSS Print media implementations. I would love to know how I can set the page to be printed in landscape orientation via CSS. Also is it possible to set page sizes via CSS?

Yesterday I blocked a number of sites from setting cookies and allowed others. Today these sites have disappeared from the manage exceptions area of config. Where have they gone? Is something deleting them? I am using Firefox 79 on a Windows 10 desktop.

What is the best way to find out why a set cookie isnt working? a request sets a cookie for a full domain .google.com for example, but it doesnt get sent on subsequent requests for a subdomain. is there any logging or error message in firefox to figure out why some cookies work and and some dont? when i look in the application tab i dont see the cookie either.

Hello,

For the past several weeks, Firefox keeps crashing randomly when loading new web pages. It shuts down the whole browser window, not just a particular tab at a time. In the past few days, it has also started to crash when a web site has already been loaded.

I have deleted all history and have only kept my bookmarks and the following extensions but it still keeps crashing: - Facebook Container - Ghostery - Privacy Ad Blocker - LastPass: Free Password Manager - uBlock Origin

I also have two disabled extensions. Not sure if they would affect anything?

Is my next step just uninstalling and reinstalling all extensions? Please let me know what else I could try!
