Lately, when I'm on a website and click into an article to read, suddenly the McAfee anti-virus ad or whatever you call intrudes and takes over the browser page I'm on and won't allow me to navigate way or stop it unless I close the browser tab and/or navigate away from the page all together.

Why is this happening? Is it something in the my particular browser? If yes, how can I remove and prevent this from happening?

Is it something that is occurring on the server of the site I'm visiting? Should I notify them what is happening?

Any help and advice greatly appreciated. It is very annoying. I don't have McAfee installed and it's not a pop-up, it happens within the browser page itself.

I have started posting bugs of Firefox in Bugzilla for almost 6 months now(though the number of bugs is 3). I have noticed that the bugs really had no response for nearly then(almost 6 months), so is it the way bugs are handled?, like they take long time to address( just asking as I though the process to be relatively fast) or is it something that I might be doing wrong in reporting a bug. I searched online and have been looking at assigning the bug( what I understood). So, how to do it if there exists something like assigning and will it increase the movement on my bugs??

I have attached images of what slowly occurs when I don't clear my cookies, websites start to slowly and slowly load less and less until they eventually completely break and wont load and I have to clear my cookies, resign into everything. and rinse and repeat every few days or a week, I also attached an image of what the purchase screen is supposed to look like. Hello Support, 5-1-2024 First Time in a decade I've had to contact support. Please TELL me why there are 13 instances of firefox running at the same time. It is take so much memory up and really slowing my machine down on the internet also. Tell me how to fix otherwise I will have to switch to a different web browser. I realy love firefox and have been using since It was released. I really Don't want to switch Browers but this is to much any more. It has become much worse than a Year ago. I do Not have any addons or extension installed now, I don't use them enough to install. Thank you for your help in this BIG HOG memory problem.

I have been having problems with Firefox on my Desktop-PC for about a week now: I am almost always shown another tab with an error message (an new tab with allways the same content) in addition to the website that is regularly called up and also works:

It doesn't matter which regular website I call up - it also happens when I call up the Mozilla Firefox page.

It is as if my website call is executed twice: once normally and everything is displayed correctly. And once as an extra tab with an alleged page loading error where the connection has failed.

How can I prevent these additional tabs with the error message from constantly popping up and being displayed? I have not made any other settings and Firefox has always worked perfectly so far. It doesn't happen with Google Chrome, for example - so it's not my PC.

Can you help me?

I've reported these issues before with no response. I've uninstalled reinstalled cleared cache and cookies searched another forums et cetera. Why must I manually update when it's set to auto update? When I set controls to ask where to download items it bypasses that and downloads it as a temp file where I have to cut it out of explorer and paste it where I would like to save it.

I've made an extention which works fine when I test it using the temp mode on firefox. When I attempt to install from file however I'm told it could not be installed as it appears to be corrupt. Below are the package.json and the manifest.json:

I have tried on two devices / installs of firefox and have followed the steps I could find on this page : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/unable-install-add-ons-extensions-or-themes#w_corrupt-extension-files

When I try to use needed tools on websites, Mozilla is blocking the page from opening. USPS will not allow me to track a package. When I enter the tracking number, the page just sits on white and the search just spins

I have tried to install my password manager Sticky Password several times to the firefox browser. The current version of sticky password is installed and running but the firefox browser leaves me a message saying it is not installed or running.

When attempting to load a number of different web pages such as Quickbooks Online Apps, the page displays "Loading Apps..." with a spinning wheel, but never redirects to the Apps page; the site hangs forever. On other browsers there are no issues; it eventually switches to the correct page. In Firefox Browser I have tried adding exceptions in Settings --> Privacy & Security --> Manage Exceptions. No change. Thoughts?

 One of my email accounts Yahoo or Gmail appears to have been hacked. I received two phishing emails this week --3 if you count the last one who said she was calling on behalf of Medicare/Social Security and All members could get a preloaded card for several hundred dollars. I knew there was a plan to help certain folks, but it was not available to everybody. I asked her for the name of the plan and she hung up. the webpage she sent me to first or told me to go there where I could talk to a licensed agent. Do people who answer the phone have a license like insurance salespeople? Anyway, they had copied the govt. the site is right up the US sea.

but it did something as I can't use my password They cancel your account if you tell them the truth --better just to say I need help resetting my password. They then ask you to send them a picture ID as in Driver's License. Noway I am going to do this --so I have at least some pretty valuable info if I can't get in.

I don't like getting recommendations in Pocket that you need a subscription to read. Why waste my time giving me the initial information on something, but then when I try to read it, I can't because I already have too many subscriptions. Seems like there used to be an option besides "Dismiss" to not show content from particular sites?

My Firefox browser is up to date but I cannot log on to my Bank website. As soon I enter my Logon info I get logged out, however I can access the site using MS EDGE. This is a recurring problem. The website recognizes Firefox as an valid browser. Occasionally I have been able fix problem by clearing the browser Cookies/History but at present none of that works. Do you have any suggestions? My preferred browser is Firefox so this problem is frustrating.

For about 6 months now, I've been having a strange problem with Firefox leaving behind ghost entries on the Win 11 taskbar.

I have a laptop attached to a dock which is connected to multiple monitors. If I have a FF window open on one of those external monitors and disconnect from the dock, all the tabs that were open in that FF window will become ghost entries on the taskbar. (see attached image).

It doesn't matter if I close FF entirely, these entries remain until I restart the computer. If I click on one of them, it opens up a brand new, blank FF window.

Has anyone else experienced this or have any idea what might be going on? I tried doing some investigating a few weeks back and I remember finding something in the task manager about COM Surrogate that seemed connected, but I didn't get beyond that.

Every once in a while, maybe once or twice a week, I'll press Cmd+L to highlight the address bar, type a URL for a new website, and press enter, and instead of going to that new website Firefox just reloads the current page. It seems that this happens exclusively when the current website is gmail.com. (I might be wrong) I can't remember it happening on any other website. This problem has been occurring for me for the past year at least. Any recommendations?
