Hi,

I have tried to sync between my two computers, but it did not work out well:

e.g when I click on ‘show more bookmarks (>>)’ on the right side of the screen (next to Other Bookmarks) I get - Firefox is not responding and I have to click on

-> Close the program.

If I click on -> Wait for the program to respond - Firefox never responds! And before I click on -> Close the Program - my keyboard input is totally erratic!

This occurs on both computers! - what can I do…..

I have therefor on the computer I want to be on the receiving end:

- deleted: History, Downloads and Tags and All Bookmarks - Cleared browsing data and cookies - Closed all open tabs

And now I am Signed in with Syncing; ON - on both computers again.

But I have not checked any of the check-boxes in ‘Manage sync…’ - ‘Manage what syncs on all your connected devices’ i.e. Bookmarks, Passwords, settings, History, Payment methods, Open tabs, Add-ons

Why is there no check-box tag groups!

What do I have to do on my SOURCE compute and on the DESTINATION computer for - a one way sync of everything?

After Signing in I was presented with the following, and I chose Not Now

Sync your Firefox experience View your saved passwords, tabs, browsing history and more — across all your devices. Select an option to continue:

- I already have Firefox for mobile Start your sync now if you already have Firefox on your mobile device. 

- I don’t have Firefox for mobile Download Firefox on your mobile device, then start your sync.

Hello, we were just assigned brand new laptops at work. I had IT install Firefox for me, and I'm attempting to sync my firefox account with my previous one so that I can load all the open tabs I had on my previous laptop. I appeared to have signed into my account just fine on the Mozilla pages, but when I go to the hamburger menu in the top right of the browser, I see no icon for my profile, nor any option for "sign in and sync" like the help guides are instructing me to click on. I can't pull up anything related to syncing in the settings, either. What exactly am I missing? Any help is appreciated, thank you!

Hello, after installing a new hard drive (the old one died and I couldn't recover the data), I reinstalled everything on my PC, except that a friend recommended installing Arium (Windows 10.8 LTS). It works fine, except that now I have no way of connecting my Mozilla account to Firefox to recover my passwords and other saved tabs.

I've searched a lot, tried several installations, and even installed a previous version of Firefox, but nothing works...

Do you know why? Is it because of Arium?

Sync instructions on desktop browser include: Sync Firefox on your phone or tablet 1. Open Firefox on your mobile device. 2. Go to the menu ( on iOS or on Android) and tap Sync and save data 3. Tap Ready to Scan and hold your phone over this code

There is no "Sync and save data" that I can see on menu

Over the years I have saved many bookmarks across several different devices. Therefore the bookmarks vary between devices. Is there any way that I can tidy up my bookmarks, deleting many of them, on my main machine and then have all the other devices Synch to that list only?

I have tried deleting ALL the bookmarks on the "subsidiary" devices and then synched them but that didn't work. I think I'm asking whether one device can be made the "master" for all the others to Synch to that one and none of the others.

I'm attempting to set up sync between my windows laptop and my new android phone. The phone has firefox loaded, allows me to pull up the 'sync and save your data' page, allows me to choose 'ready to scan' and presumably successfully scans the QR code displayed on the laptop (the laptop prompts me to approve the new device). Then the laptop indicates I need to wait to approve it on my phone, and the whole process stalls. The phone continues to display the mostly blank white screen with only the "moz://a" at the top and the spinning blue circle in the center. Eventually the whole thing seems to time out and I receive an error message on the laptop saying "websocket unexpectedly closed" and "device pairing failed".

My two hypotheses are that either still having my old phone (which is being retired to at-home use only, and I'd rather not de-sync) still synced is somehow interfering (seems unlikely), or that something about the new phone's software is interfering in the sync (seems unlikely and way out of my league in terms of troubleshooting around).

Help please?

Choices? I need to understand the App before committing my internet presence. Options to revert to Firefox/Windows, disable features I choose. Otherwise it just GQQle. Sync is already intruding on my preferences.

I've got Firefox on three devices and I'm looking to get a little more fine grained control between the synced data.

Ideally I want to sync passwords between all three but only sync bookmarks between two of them. This doesn't seem to be possible with the current options. Is there an alternative short of manually exporting and importing on the devices I want to keep in step?

Where tf is the sync and save data button on Firefox Android v 142.0

I am trying to sync with my desktop and there's no option under the menu for sync. The instruction given when I try to sync is to click the menu, go to "sync and save data" and scan a qr code. Of course the code doesn't work from my camera like every other qr code in the universe. It has to be scanned in the Firefox app but there's nowhere in the app to do this.

It's not in settings. It's nowhere.

Where is it, I REALLY REALLY NEED TO SYNC so that I have access to my bookmarks on my phone.

This shouldn't be complicated or difficult where is it???????? :( This is ridiculous.

I could swear when I went from one computer to another computer and signed into firefox that it showed me all my bookmarks, addons and extensions.

I'm on another new computer many years later and when I signed into my account I don't see my bookmarks, extensions and addons anymore.

Anything change since many years ago?

I would like to clear all of my sync data from my firefox account. This includes browsing history, passwords, payment methods, extensions, bookmarks, favourites, themes.

If I have edited the passwords file and bookmarks file and saved them to a folder via export feature. When I import the edited file into firefox how can I make that the master file and not have the other instances of firefox sync all the old data back to the master one I edited? For instance I have FF on android, linux and windows, if I import the edited file to the windows instance what is to stop the linux from syncing back to the windows machine? I have had this happen previously where a newer instance of firefox overwrote the bookmarks and password files. Will I have to delete all bookmarks and passwords and import them from the new edited file on each device?

The Chinese account logs in with empty data and invalid synchronization. If you decide to terminate the cooperation with the Chinese version, you would like to publish a notice and open the synchronization server for the data. So that Chinese users can export their data and migrate it to their international accounts.

Trying to get same layout on new computer through syncing. I seem to be able to find my old bookmarks, but not with a simple click as before. Cant even find how to set homwpage on new computer

I have two laptops - both identical accounts signed in and would like to sync them so that when I open Firefox on laptop 2 it will show me Firefox on laptop 1. and if laptop 2 was last used, then when open laptop 1, it shows me Firefox on laptop 2.

currently it is separate and unique instances.

how do i automate the sync?
