Every now and then, although I have my browser set to open with all previous tabs in place, it does not, and they are lost. But there seems no way to have them reopen and I lose a lot of info this way. This is even though the settings are such that it says to open all the tabs from last time. Any answers

All the thumbnails except for the starting page are blank when restarting the browser. I need to click on each and every tab to make the thumbnails show.

Is there a way to change this? It drives me up the wall, especially when having to restart multiple times -which happens a lot due to several factors. I have vision problems and need the thumbs to show to find my way around quickly.

Thanks.

It's so frustrating that the keyboard shortcut for closing tabs is right beside the one to quit Firefox. I've lost countless hours because of this, and it's so easy to accidentally do. Is there a way to keep this from happening? A simple "Are you sure" confirmation dialog would be great, or I really like the Chrome "hold command-Q" to exit feature. This seemingly simple function is proving extremely difficult to accomplish.

Yes, I'm aware of session restore, but (1) It does not preserve my window arrangement. I use multiple desktops for various tasks, and they each have related browser windows. (2) I need to see webpages exactly as they were when I opened them. Sessions expire, dynamic pages are refreshed, content is removed etc. That is all lost.

I do not want to disable session restore completely. It can still be useful. But, I do not want to trigger session restore automatically every time. Manual activation is ideal.

regarding: "browser.tabs.warnOnClose" I do not want a warning for closing multiple tabs. I often have many windows open and that warning gets annoying. It also doesn't prevent me from accidentally quitting when I only have one tab open.

I tried setting browser.warnOnQuit to true, but it's ignored.

I simply want a confirmation when I use the keyboard shortcut to QUIT. That's it. No side effects. Can Firefox do this?

IMPORTANT NOTE: I already have the Check mark clicked in Settings to "open links in tabs instead of new windows" so please don't suggest that.

I tend to have a lot of tabs open (more than 100) in Firefox. Until it recently updated, no matter how many tabs I had open, if I opened a new tab, it would do so in the same window. Now, after the update, I have about 60 tabs open and anytime I open a new tab from my current window, it will after a few seconds switch to opening a new window, which is very annoying.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix it?

Thank you very much for your help!

Firefox on MacOS Catalina fails to save/restore tabs, whether pinned or otherwise, after shutdown.

I have extensions: Bitwarden DuckDuckGo Privacy Amazon smile sponsor redirect Amazon Unsponsored YouTube Sponsor block

Tried it with and without these running and FF fails to save my tabs, regardless of shutting down the browser or the OS. This does not occur on Win10 or my Linux distros. I've been trawling forums and help pages and the Interweb casually for weeks now, without success, but getting quite frustrated now; so posting this as a last resort. Thanks in advance of any suggestions.

using the CTRL+TAB to show open thumbnails tabs visually is a great feature firefox have over other browsers and what encouraged me to leave chrome. have only 6 inst very effective - this needs to be dynamic (for at least 10-15 tabs) and going over the web is seems a lot of people asked this feature.

Is there a way to change this? if not where can I ask a feature request?

The title basically says it all already. In the documentation of the new tab page it tells you how to remove them, but not how to add them. There should be a way however. For some reason, the pocket suggestions disappeared from my new tab page, and I haven't found a way to get them back. I know from another machine that under settings there should be a check box that you can tick to enable or disable pocket suggestions on the new tab page, but on the system in question, this option is simply not there. How to fix?

Is it possible to have several PiPs running simultaneously in separate 'windows'?

The PiP view is actually really useful just for losing all the window decorations - panels, info/status/bookmark/title/tab bars etc.

It would be useful to be able to pop out two, three or more different videos (e.g. multiple youtube videos) to arrange them around the screen with optimal scaling/space usage to fit them all in.

"Hide and Show: Assume you use your browser for both Work and Personal tasks. When you come home at the end of the day, you don’t want to be thinking about “Work” anymore, but your browser is full of Work tabs. You can “Hide” your Work tabs and proceed with your Personal tasks. Then the next day, when you are back at work, you can “Hide” your Personal tabs and “Show” your Work tabs."

On an aside, I'm also getting pretty confused between collections (mobile), containers (desktop), sessions, tab groups, etc... they all seem to have overlapping but different functionality.

I have verified that the settings are to open links in a new tab but they still open in a new window and the new window has tabs I previously closed. This problem arose after Microsoft did an update to Windows 10 in which my default browser (Firefox) was replaced with Edge. When I reset Firefox as my default the problem appeared. Prior to the update links opened in a new tab as I intended.

I searched this forum but couldn't find an answer. I have "restore last session" turned on, but I'd like Firefox wouldn't reopen my last visited site after I close the browser by closing the last tab. In other words: if I close the browser by a regular means (by clicking the rightmost upper X, or by right-clicking the taskbar and choosing close window) it goes to the last viewed site when I reopen the browser – and that's ok – but when I close the last tab and the browser closes, I don't want to see this site again when I reopen Firefox. Is there a way to achieve this? By the way, this is the standard behavior in Google Chrome.
