I installed the uBlock Origin add on to stop ads while watching youtube. I restarted the computer. uBlock Origin is in Add Ons, and is switched on. However, I am still receiving ads. First ad is before the clip plays. After 5 seconds, I can end the ad. Second ad is really intrusive. It interrupts the clip. Perhaps I misunderstood the capabilities of uBlock Origin, or how to use it. I would appreciate any recommendations Firefox version on my Windows 7 PC is: 79.0 (64-bit) Thanks.

Since the last update, I am receiving the error message SSL_ERROR_BAD_MAC_ALERT when I access one website that I need to use as part of my work.
It is a trusted site that I have used for many years. The error message above displays and I get the option to retry which usually works, but I lose any content up to that point.
I have contacted the website owners as suggested and they say it is a Mozilla issue. I found a couple of suggestions to fix this on-line, but it did not work.
Can you help?

How do i go about restoring my old firefox data? Firefox suggested restarting the browser and once it opened back up it deleted all my extentions etc. and placed an 'old firefox data' folder on my desktop. I tried finding solutions but nothing worked. I typed in about:profile. Went to default profile. I clicked on Local Directory - Show in folder. And then pasted everything from my old firefox data folder into that. And nothing worked. Any help????

Firefox extentions often ask for the authorization "Access your data for all websites". The description is "The extension can read the content of any webpage you visit as well as the data you enter there, e.g. B. Usernames and Passwords." Does this mean e.g. if I type in my bank account in a firefox browser window or a password for any other pge that this extension has access to this input/password??? Martin

I am on a website page that continually refreshes after 4 or 5 seconds. I am using what I believe is the latest version of Firefox (July 2020 update) in a Windows 10 32 bit environment. I found a few answers that mention how to disable the auto refresh but those options do not seem to appear in the current version. Perhaps the wordings or options have changed but I cannot find the "Warn me when web pages try to refresh" checkbox. Thanks.
I would like to know if there are options to disable auto refresh for (a) a single webpage or (b) all pages on a website.

I searched this forum but couldn't find an answer. I have "restore last session" turned on, but I'd like Firefox wouldn't reopen my last visited site after I close the browser by closing the last tab. In other words: if I close the browser by a regular means (by clicking the rightmost upper X, or by right-clicking the taskbar and choosing close window) it goes to the last viewed site when I reopen the browser – and that's ok – but when I close the last tab and the browser closes, I don't want to see this site again when I reopen Firefox. Is there a way to achieve this? By the way, this is the standard behavior in Google Chrome.

On multiple websites I visit, picture in picture happens automatically when I scroll past a video or click another section of a page. I find it highly annoying and distracting. I would like to disable it completely. How do I do this? I'd appreciate an answer that isn't too technical. Thanks.

I had 3 windows with lots of tabs open and firefox only restored half of them. It's taking me a lot of time to go through history and finding the ones I lost and restoring them. I closed all firefox windows on exiting, verifying for each one to close the tabs, and yet this still happened when I restarted. I noticed afterwards that under options, under general, restore session was unclicked?? I have no recollection of doing that or any reason I would. I also saw that the sub box to warn me when closing tabs was also unclicked. Again, I would never unclick it and have no recollection or reason to have been fiddling with all that.
The only other thing is when first rebooting as I was going to history to restore sessions a Norton tab (I have Norton 360) popped up. I restored history and half of my stuff was gone. Does anyone have any idea of what's going on here?
