I think I have successfully downloaded DeepSleep and opened the tar file using 7-zip.

I cannot figure out how to start it, or if will start at all.

The comments I see on the web seem to indicate that is not compatible with Windows. but the documentation says it is?

The app I have downloaded and untared does not seem to open. It does not show in my Control Panels apps list.

What I am seeing on the web is that it is a very complicated install and requires other modules, like python?

Is there some way a novice can get this going easily?

Thanks

Please change back the URL bar ever since it was added a month ago or whenever it has been SO annoying. I'm about to change browsers because I cannot stand it anymore. It is visually unattractive and obnoxious looking.

Also, highlighted text in it is a blue font color with no highlight. Why is this different from every other Windows program?? It is not easy to tell that text is highlighted. It should be HIGHLIGHTED blue with a white font color.

I'm using Fedora 32 and I have the middle mouse button disabled in the gnome tweak tool. But for whatever reason, Firefox seems to ignore this. What I really want is for Firefox to stop closing tabs when I have the mouse cursor hovered over a tab and I touch the wrong part (the middle) of the touch pad. This is just a huge usability problem. I'm killing tabs all the time, sometimes with forms and email messages in them. Help?

I find myself facing a real dillema, I prefer to use Firefox for most things however, due to the fact that Firefox does not support H.265 and has instead opted to only support AVI video I cannot use it to manage the massive fleet of Security Cameras I manage. I am stuck using IE or Edge both of which are garbage. Along with that Chrome also has decided to only support AVI so that is worthless as well. In our modern era of technology I find it morally repugnant that a company like Firefox would turn their back on their loyal users. Could someone please explain to why Firefox cannot even implement an add-on that would allow use of the built in hardware decoder if supported on your computer like IE/Edge are capable of doing? I just don't understand why Firefox insists on copying Chrome rather than being their own independent company, especially when Chrome has worked their way into almost a monopoly status, and even if Chrome is not a monopoly every other browser now seems to just be a spin off of Chrome. I would imagine that Firefox would want to support as much as possible and not dictate to the world like Google has decided to do. Really starting to lose faith in Firefox's ability to be their own company.

Why can't I access, comment on Facebook now with the new upgrade? I'm ready to just delete Firefox and go with Safari, and hopefully never the dreadful Google Chrome.

I need help. I'm certain it's just a checkbox somewhere but I don't have hours to peruse multiple articles and online gibberish to try to find it.

Can someone actually help - Not the standard I tried, this and that, but actual help and definitive direction?

I used to take print to study contents offline and I almost always use Mozilla as a browser. Recently I noticed that I was unable to print a full page in a simple website. Understandable that firefox team has been busy working upon the print bugs, but the page and the website I am referring to is Purely HTML and CSS; and for some reason firefox cuts out the rest of the pages from print except for the first.(i.e) to say it prints only the top part of the page..

Though I work with Ubuntu I have crosschecked with Win8.1 and TOR version of firefox which had the same shortcoming, with the website I was referring to. However other browsers such as the Safari and Chrome seem to do fine with this regard. Kindly check for yourselves and let me know if I am going wrong somewhere. Also please Avoid recommending any add ons to accomplish the task at hand.

The thing is the website I was referring to is of very simple make and may help the team to shoot the bug if any, with an easier test case such as this.

With love and Thanks

Every day the first time I run Firefox I get a popup in the top right corner saying 'Get the new Microsoft Edge". I've seen the links to turning off 'Get tips, tricks and suggestion' in settings; this is a company laptop and that is set to off by my company.

The thing is I do have Edge and I use it, it just isn't my default browser. Any suggestion?

IMac 2010 Sierra & Macbook Pro Catalina

Hi, I have been dialoguing with Microsoft over the random behaviour of Outlook when I click on a message (or the command 'Open the message in a new window'). The window always opens but the message is not always displayed- there is no pattern in this behaviour.

See enclosed screen captures.

This problem occurs on my two machines (see above). I also have Safari and this problem does not occur with this browser.

Microsoft thinks it's a Firefox problem ....il s'agit d'un problème spécifique au navigateur...."

Do you have any ideas?

Do you want a copy of my exchange with Microsoft?

Many thanks for your answers

Best regards Jeremy Lees

Hi guys, I have a problem with firefox. The option to undo close tab (whether its the shortcut, or the right click on tabs menu) doesn't work correctly for me, it always open a randomly closed page from a while ago and not the recently closed one.

I thought it was a problem with how I close the tabs (ie. if i click on the x or ctrl+w, or the mouse wheel) but it doesn't make a difference, the undo closed tab still doesn't work right.

I tried looking for a solution on here and online but found nothing concrete. So, I appreciate any help.

Is it possible to open Firefox from command line (or shortcut) without loading the URL or tab bars?

My current workaround is to load the URL and then click a bookmarklet which opens the tab in a popup window. Is there a way to open a link directly in a popup window?

I've scanned about:config to no avail, and it seems all the popup extensions just do what my bookmarklet does.

Ideally there would be a command line flag like --popup which does exactly that, but the closest thing I could find is --headless and --kiosk which don't work that way.

I also made a new profile named "popup" and intended to add extensions which hide the nav bar, but it looks like extensions aren't allowed to do that any more.

I'm on Windows 10 but still use Windows Live Mail. I used to be able to click the "Email Link" icon on my Firefox toolbar to automatically mail the current URL to someone using Live Mail. I can go into Options>Applications>mailto and link it to xlmail.exe but I can't add the argument "/mailurl:%" to the end of the command line so that it properly constructs an email message. This used to work - does anybody have a suggestion (other than finally abandoning Live Mail or Firefox)?

Thanks.

I hate it when I click on the url-field and its size change.

It wasn't there in former firefox versions and I did not miss it. It changed some time ago. Any decent software development would have introduced his new feature and provided a "classic" option to turn it off. Not so firefox. Mozilla introduced it and I had to google how to get the old behaviour back. No option.. I have to go to about:config, ignore teh warnings, find some weird options and set them to false and the mozilla turned that off too. Now the was to change it is to set up a css-file, got to about:config again to make firefox actually read that file, place some mystery css-code in there and it still does not work!

Very annoying, an outstanding example of bad practice how to introduce new features and take away users choices.

So: How to stop URL bar from enlarging on click?
