The Original email address I used to create my Firefox account is lost.

When I look in the support site the advice is to create a new Firefox Account under a valid email address and then I will be able to sync my data.

I created a new mail address, but if I try to create that new Firefox account with that I get the notification that the primary email address of the account is needed to sign in. But that account does not exist anymore. So I don't see the form I have to fill in to create my new account. Can you help me?

Good morning. I unsubscribed from all communication from Mozilla Firefox. I clicked the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email I received and yet, since this past Saturday, I am STILL getting email from Mozilla. I even changed my email address and unsubscribed again but since Saturday there are 3 more emails from Mozilla in my mailbox. I want it to stop but there appears nothing else I can do, I already unsubscribed from everything I could find. Not really a fan of unsolicited email and I don't give my email address out because of it. I don't expect it from Mozilla which is supposed to be all about security and privacy. I am not subscribed to firefox account tips. I posted a few images to show what I am talking about.

Thanks

In windows you just need to edit the mozilla.cfg and set proxy type to 4

On the Mac there only seems to be a prefs.js in the user library

I'm on firefox 90.0.1 on Mac OSX Big Sur 11.2.3. When I try to delete a site certificate that I have (that is about to expire), it appears deleted, but when I open the certificates page again it reappears. When I restart Firefox after deletion it reappears. When I delete cert9.db from my default profile after closing firefox, and then reopen, it still reappears. When I uninstall Firefox, delete the default profile folder from App Data and the Mozilla and Firefox folders from my caches, it still reappears (I also deleted the update folder).

I am doing sync between this mac, my phone, and another computer, but I ONLY have bookmarks, Add-ons, and history. Might the sync be also syncing my certificates?

Help/tips would be appreciated.

Sometimes, I try to click on a link from a page to open in another tab. Firefox opens a new tab, loads part of the page then closes the tab again. If I click on the link a second time, it will sucessfully load the new tab as normal.

This can happen even with a link from Email to Reddit or some such and firefox will start up, partially load the tab and close down again. It's really frustrating.

I've been putting up with it for about 3 months on Win7 thinking it might be my system was overloaded with junk. But I recently upgraded my PC completely, (CPU, Memory, Motherboard and Graphics) and installed Win10 on it and a fresh install of Firefox. It's still happening. It's nothing to do with hardware acceleration or such, this is a totally new PC and a fresh install of Win10 and Firefox with no tweaks.

It's driving me nuts because I want the page to open but I sometimes have to click on the link twice to open it. It's like Firefox is treating the new tab as a popup and closing it.

For the past several updates, it seems that Mozilla is becoming a form of bloatware, trying to be all things to all people. Many of us have been involved in the use of computers for 30 years or so, have got our systems to do what we wish to do - we are not gamers, not webpage entrepreneurs, code-writers etc. who marvel in making programme monstrosities.

My system is set up for the disabled - employing VoIP, IP etc. and you f*k it up with your 'forced' changes - yes, they are supposed to be optional, but you throttle and throttle until we have to push 'yes' to update and then we have to trim away what is necessary - in my instance - tools for the disabled of which you don't seem to give a merde. You are all in your own little worlds and don't realize the breadth of the Mozilla community and who uses it - PARTICULARLY FOR SURVIVAL NEEDS - who do not fit into your preoccupations with becoming bigger and better.

Perhaps you might come out with a slimmed down - remove the McD fats and salt - version so that the rest of us can continue to use Mozilla without it causing out computers from shutting down - which has been a problem since the past 3 updates.

Within the past 3-4 week, I am constantly getting messages that FF has updates. These messages are coming randomly throughout the day and when I select "Dismiss", it updates anyway. These updates have caused me to lose bookmarks and saved log in for certain websites. This is frustrating. I cannot go through this everyday, all day. This is my work computer and my technology department cannot seem to find or figure out the issue. I no longer have the option to turn off updates. This is happening on my desktop only. No issues with the laptop. Never had issues with FF updates before; updates would occur overnight and bookmarks were never lost. WHAT GIVES?????????? I have attached screenshots. I have even uninstalled and reinstalled the browser. Cannot use Chrome, Edge or IE for the software I use for work; all modules will not work with those browsers. This is a brand new desktop; less than 6 months old.

Hello,

Thunderbird got updated to 78.12.0 by Mozilla Maintenance Service this morning and I believe Firefox got uninstalled by accident during the process.

The reason I think it got deleted by MMS is because in `C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox` I could see a single file named `tobedeleted` and when I read the log located at `C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Maintenance Service\UpdateLogs`, the last two lines were : NS_main: unable to remove directory: tobedeleted, err: 41 NS_main: directory will be removed on OS reboot: tobedeleted

Luckily my `%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles` were not affected by this issue and I managed to recover my data by reinstalling Firefox.

Best regards,

I've been using site https://mail.aol.com/webmail-std/en-us/suite for years to log in to AOL email for years and now, with Firefox v90, it takes over 2 minutes to load. It takes only a couple seconds with the Edge browser. I've tried troubleshooting mode, a refresh and a complete re-installation without any improvement. This never happened in previous versions of Firefox.

Any help is appreciated, Gary S.

Mozilla has no true feedback page any more, so I chose to post here. I kept the "Allow Firefox to install and run studies" box unchecked since I began to use the Firefox browser (years ago). While I was researching a different issue, I found other users' posts about app.normandy. They all said that it allowed Mozilla to do what Mozilla promised not to do: run studies in violation of users' preference to opt out. Based on what I learned from those posts, I found where app.normandy was in my computer's about:config and toggled it to false. I want to thank those other users for their posts. Mozilla's explanation, also according to those posts, is that "Normandy is a collection of servers, workflows, and Firefox components that enables Mozilla to remote control Firefox clients in the wild based on precise criteria." Aside from whether or not Mozilla should be remote-controlling clients in this way, does it really consider all the diverse places in the world where its users live to be "in the wild?"

Firefox just updated here. I hope on this computer the problem does not surface.

After the last update to version 90.0, I can't continue to use firefox browser. The problem is about opening google sites (youtube, gmail). Other websites seems to work normal, but I can't open youtube and gmail now (google.com itself works heavily). When I type url and click enter, it takes so much time to load, often not loading the site or partially load. Other browsers installed on the same system works normally with the "problematic" websites. I tried hard reload (ctrl+f5), cleaning all browser data, and uninstalling and reinstalling. None of the mentioned actions helped. Please help me to identify and solve the issue.
