Firefox automatically updated itself and installed "Firefox Quantum" 60.0.2 I see - 64 bit - on Windows 10 on a Dell laptop.
Never had this problem before - but when loading Ebay pages, the main body of the advert page fails to load and the full message I get instead is below - I've tried switching the proxy settings to "No proxy" or "Use system settings" and sometimes page loads correctly once but then it fails again! Have cleared cache/cookies, have refreshed, have restarted ...
Very frustrating and this is about to lead me to give up finally on Firefox and move to Chrome.

Every day around 9:30 PM, browsing the web becomes impossible. nearly every site I visit brings up a This Connection Is Untrusted page. I have tried using different browsers and Different Devices. Even my 3DS doesn't work. This has lead me to believe that the problem is either with the modem or my service provider. I checked the certificate of Google via chrome://pippki/content/exceptionDialog.xul, and it read ISSUED TO Common Name (CN) security.frontier.com Organization (O) security.frontier.com and when I checked it now, it reads ISSUED TO Common Name (CN) www.google.com Organization (O) Google Inc I don't know what fixes this problem since the problem stops at different times. It started around when I installed AVG, so I tried uninstalling it, but the problem didn't stop. While I'm fairly certain the problem isn't related to Firefox, this is one of the sites that I am able to visit when this problem occurs. I have tried manually adding the exception so I could bypass the Untrusted Connection page, but the page never loads and the next time it happens, the page is there again anyway.

Hi all, I'm using Firefox 39.0. When I try to connect to our web site, (which has a RapidSSL certificate installed) it shows the errors;
"the certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown" "the server might not be sending the appropriate intermediate certificates" "An additional root certificate may need to be imported"
If I look at the certificate chain I get the information below; Under the issued by, I have

When I go to the site with IE, there is no security warning. Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

It's been a while now since I randomly started getting the above problem. I've tried the solutions described here: https://cheapsslsecurity.com/blog/troubleshoot-secure-connection-failed-error-firefox/ I've stopped the Kaspersky Internet Security, I've installed and re-installed Firefox, I've tried editing/deleting the damn security ceritficates, mothing worked. And nothing of Firefox's help pages... helped either.
I'm using the latest Firefox, latest KIS version, all the drivers are up-to-date, system (Win 7 64-bit) runs perfectly with no error whatsoever, same for the Inetrnet connection. At this point I'm just about ready to flush Firefox down the drain because of this frustrating problem. It will probably go away after restarting the system, but I don't want to do this at Firefox's notice whenever it feels like it. I just want it to go away period.
Since it looks like it's impossible to attach a simple .jpeg to this message (file keeps loading forever), here's the full text of the error: "Secure Connection Failed An error occurred during a connection to www.google.com. You have received an invalid certificate. Please contact the server administrator or email correspondent and give them the following information: Your certificate contains the same serial number as another certificate issued by the certificate authority. Side note: very funny having to confirm this question by checking my gmail address... which I can't access because of the reasons stated above.

In the last couple of days I am unable to use Firefox. Every time I try to open a new web page I receive a SEC_ERROR_BAD_SIGNATURE.
I can't even get www.google.com to work! I get the same error. Pages that are saved in the browser before two days ago open fine. But anything new will not open I get the same error.
I get the error for pages I know are secure eg: Pinterest, Facebook etc

I run ecommerce site, which was using standard ‘Positive SSL’ using the following SSLCipherSuite ALL:!ADH:+HIGH:+MEDIUM:+SSLv2:+EXP.
I’ve not had a problem with Firefox users accessing the site, but today, I removed the Positive SSL cert and replaced it with a ‘Positive Wildcard SSL’
The site is fine with other browsers but when testing on Firefox (no other changes made) I get the following error: --- Secure Connection Failed An error occurred during a connection to www.sussexcookers.com. Cannot communicate securely with peer: no common encryption algorithm(s). (Error code: ssl_error_no_cypher_overlap) The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified. Please contact the web site owners to inform them of this problem. --- Now I’m obviously the site owner – and I suspect I will be contacted by my users shortly! So I want to address this problem for them. So any help is appreciated!
Now I concluded that – after performing clean install of Firefox on test machine, that the problem is related to SSLCipherSuite, I tried implementing a number of CipherSuites which corrected the problem on test machine, but doesn’t fix the problem for customers who have already visited the site and are returning. The problem is still present on my main development machine and second test machine I use. I’m currently running the following CipherSuite as specified by the Wiki: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Security/Server_Side_TLS ECDHE-RSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256:ECDHE-ECDSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256:ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384:ECDHE-ECDSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384:DHE-RSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256:DHE-DSS-AES128-GCM-SHA256:kEDH+AESGCM:ECDHE-RSA-AES128-SHA256:ECDHE-ECDSA-AES128-SHA256:ECDHE-RSA-AES128-SHA:ECDHE-ECDSA-AES128-SHA:ECDHE-RSA-AES256-SHA384:ECDHE-ECDSA-AES256-SHA384:ECDHE-RSA-AES256-SHA:ECDHE-ECDSA-AES256-SHA:DHE-RSA-AES128-SHA256:DHE-RSA-AES128-SHA:DHE-DSS-AES128-SHA256:DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA256:DHE-DSS-AES256-SHA:DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA:ECDHE-RSA-DES-CBC3-SHA:ECDHE-ECDSA-DES-CBC3-SHA:AES128-GCM-SHA256:AES256-GCM-SHA384:AES128-SHA256:AES256-SHA256:AES128-SHA:AES256-SHA:AES:CAMELLIA:DES-CBC3-SHA:!aNULL:!eNULL:!EXPORT:!DES:!RC4:!MD5:!PSK:!aECDH:!EDH-DSS-DES-CBC3-SHA:!EDH-RSA-DES-CBC3-SHA:!KRB5-DES-CBC3-SHA
Is this a bug or is there setting I need to change to address this problem. At the moment I fear that anyone who as viewed my site in Firefox prior the certificate change won’t be able to view the site with the new certificate unless they re-install Firefox or rinse the certificate database. Which is not viable steps for my average customer.
Any help or advice would be super appreciated thanks!

Hello!
My partner is unable to access the following secure site via Firefox 55.0.3: https://mdlandrec.net/main/
He receives the error message: "Secure Connection Failed. The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading." (Full error message screen shot attached.)
Meanwhile, I am able to access the site with no problem, using the same version.
The error message suggests I contact the site owners, which is not possible. The site is a state government site and the owners are not responsive. I cannot wait for this problem to resolve itself. Is there any way to bypass this security so that my partner's Firefox can access the site?
Thank you! BenGW

I'm in Mac OSX Sierra. No antivirus installed. Firefox is 56.0.2 since 57 gave me problems. It worked perfectly and, all of a sudden, wham! Some sites work, some others, MOZILLA.ORG and GOOGLE INCLUDED, no more. Restarted in safe mode, no way. Cleared cache. No way. Trashed the program and reinstalled in 56.0.2, no way, reinstalled in 57, no way. Erased the cert8.db files in profiles. No way, no way, no way. In some sites, I could add exception but then they open up with no images, not formatted, in a weird plain mode.
When I try google.com, it says:
Your connection is not secure The owner of www.google.com has configured their website improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website. This site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) to specify that Firefox may only connect to it securely. As a result, it is not possible to add an exception for this certificate. Learn more…
When I click "learn more", it goes to Mozilla but... MOZILLA IS BLOCKED TOO! I open the same page in Safari but just say to fix the antivirus and I have no antivirus.
I click the "advanced" tag and this is what shows up:
www.google.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown. The server might not be sending the appropriate intermediate certificates. An additional root certificate may need to be imported. Error code: SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER
I click the SEC_ERROR and there's another window saying "copy text to clipboard" and... ok, I'm an idiot but I don't know what's the clipboard and where's it. Anyway, the text is this:
https://www.google.com/ Peer’s Certificate issuer is not recognized. HTTP Strict Transport Security: true HTTP Public Key Pinning: true Certificate chain:

I am a medical insurance biller. I downloaded Windows 8, and Mozilla Firefox so that I could use United Healthcare Authorizations because they stopped allowing use on Google Chrome. I tried to get on the site, and the message I received was:
"An error occurred during a connection to saml2.radiologynotifications.com. SSL received a weak ephemeral Diffie-Hellman key in Server Key Exchange handshake message. (Error code: ssl_error_weak_server_ephemeral_dh_key)
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified. Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem."
When I looked this up, it said that your site said this was a malicious site and blocked it. This is a secure site. And I need this site for my work. I have been doing this for 15 years, and If I cannot use this I will be forced to use another browser.
Can you please help me?

Hello.
I would like to Install a certificate programmatically on Firefox version 59. I read that i need CertUtil, but the certutil code that i got on github is built from old NSS. so it only generates cert8.db and not Cert9.db, which Firefox 59 needs i assume.
So if i am correct, i need to build NSS 3.35 or higher to have a Certutil right? i went to this site to set the Windows Prerequisite and downloaded the mozilla build. and was able to build it. but it was very long so i cancelled it. I have also installed Visual Studio 2017 community Edition with the C++ compilers.
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Developer_guide/Build_Instructions/Windows_Prerequisites https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Projects/NSS/Building
So i have a working mozilla-build folder and working bash prompt . And i have cloned the nspr and nss into my local folder.
So when i execute the command to build the nss, i get this error. that C compiler not working. And when i check the console.log, this is what i got.

I do not understand why its not able to run the cl compiler. Cause when i ran the developer command prompt for VS 2017, i can execute cl.
I don't know what is causing this error. Is it because bash cannot identify the c Compiler cl? do i have to set additional environment variables?
I hope someone can help me to solve this problem. Or if someone has a precompiled NSS 3.35 with Certutil.exe, that would greatly help.
Thank you very much, Rommel
