Using Mac OS 10.13.6, Firefox recently updated to 115.0.3, and now the Overdrive app (from the public library) won't download audiobook files anymore. Have tried clearing cache, restarting, removing book files, restarting, and reloading the OD app, etc. The error message is that the app can't connect to the internet. My internet connection is fine - this is only happening with this app. It only started doing this when Firefox updated. I tried loading an earlier version of Firefox but it automatically went to this Beta update channel version. Can you help me go back to an earlier version of Firefox that won't automatically update? (I'm not able to upgrade this Mac, and this OS is the one that Overdrive works with. Firefox was the only browser that worked with Overdrive. Thanks - hope you can help!

In seeking a way to reduce the CPU & RAM usage, I read that perhaps turning on the Hardware Acceleration might help. And to do that, you must first de-select the default setting which says FF will use the best settings for my computer. Well, when I opened that section, neither one was checked! So, should I first try the default setting, and if that doesn't help, then try HA? I'd always heard not to use HA, for some reason, but I'm ready for trying anything that might help use less resources, and open webpages more consistently.

Which is the best setting to use, or neither one?

It worked well yesterday and then it updated to 127.0.1 and now i can not open it. I get XUL Runner not compatible. It is on a windows 10 computer.

All my information bookmarks and passwords, but I have no way to get to them, uninstalled and reinstalled, but the new one doesn't look like the old version, and none of my information is there. I have tried copying the profile folder from and pasting it in the folder. but still nothing. I have it set as default, but the new one wants to be default, so when I go to make it my default I have 2 Firefox to choose from along with chrome, and edge.

My other problem is I have been using Firefox for probably 20 plus years, so there is a lot of saved stuff, but not sure what my previous user name and log in was. I have downloaded and older version and of course i updated also. I have a Firefox that works now, but not the one with all of my information.

Sorry if this makes no sense, no really sure how to explain it differently.

Can some one please help me figure out how to get all my bookmarks and passwords back?

I don't want to use passkeys, and it seems that every site is checking browser support and wasting my time with passkey prompts before allowing me to log in with a password. How do I disable passkey support in Firefox?

Hi, the site "https://pixabay.com/" is suddently extremely slow with mozilla. The pictures don't showup or take many minutes before you can see them. Normally only white boxes show. The same site (pixabay) with the browser "Opera" works perfectly. I always use mozilla and since a short while it just doesn't work with pixabay (a site for royalty-free images). hello tried a few things from help docs on line. nothing working. just keeps happening. tabs will say gah. your tab just crashed. works for a bit but once happens.... have to close whole firefox and open again. just started happening yesterday. I have used firefox for many many years never a problem. Something was not updated right. Please tell me how to fix this once and for all. if not I have to leave using firefox this is driving me crazy. terrible. Have used firefox for several years, In the last few weeks it began "auto starting" when I wake up my computer with windows 10. I do not want it to start automatically. The box in settings for auto start is NOT checked.

Pretty much every video I attempt to play, including https://www.allaboutbirds.org/cams/red-tailed-hawks/# will play the video only when audio is muted. unmute the audio and you get the audio track but the video is paused.

Can't figure this one out, I've seen it only in the last few days (it started when I was using 127.0.0 and continues in 127.0.1)

Chrome and Chromium don't do this.

Hello!

Started up Firefox today and these whited out boxes started appearing over my search bars and random part of the screen, such as the descriptions of different articles on my home pages, extension and theme information in my settings, and different tabs (see pictures 1 and 2). The text is also white, making it almost impossible for me to see what I'm typing or selecting in the search bar (picture 3).

I've already tried some tips that I found on the forums such as changing the hardware accelerator, making sure my extensions and add-ons were up to date, etc. When I go into troubleshooting mode, the boxes disappear and Firefox functions normally, but when I tried turning off all my add-ons and themes on the regular browser, the problem still wasn't fixed. I did a full refresh of the browser, hoping that would help to reset whatever was causing the issue, but that didn't help either.

Any advice or troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated!

Why is Firefox refusing to display Instagram videos?

For a fraction of a second, the video shows what appears to be the initial display frame, then goes black. Audio plays. Displays OK on Chrome and Edge.

I've explored the following: Autoplay is allowed Turn off tracking protection Clear cache Clear cookies Digital Rights Management (DRM) is allowed Running in trouble shoot mode, i.e. no extensions Popups not blocked I do not have file user.js I tried hiding prefs.js. Is there a setting that tells Firefox to report why it makes its choices?

Suppose that I have a 5 kbyte comment with multiple paragraphs, and I skip around copy and pasting from one place to another, and highlight some sentences and over write them either with typing or pasting. When I go to undo or redo some of these things, it causes a big screw-up in the text.

Other than it being my problem to recompose the damaged sentences, etc, what developers need to be contacted to fix the undo and redo functions of the YouTube comment input text controls for YouTube videos?

I can no longer use Duolingo (macOS Monterey 12.7.5) because the pages get stuck loading. I've cleared the cache and cookies for it and it still doesn't work. In addition, I've submitted multiple bug reports to Duolingo. Apparently the developers there pay zero attention to these. I want to use Duolingo on my iMac and I love using Firefox as my browser. WHAT is the problem and how can I fix it???

I isolated weird audio distortion when playing you tube videos to Firefox browser. Watching video from non YouTube sites does not have a problem. Watching you tube videos on Microsoft Edge browser does not have any distortion. Appears to have happened after latest 6/14/2024 update

Twitch shows error 2000 when I'm trying to watch a video on it. When I watch lives, no ploblems happen. It loads the videos with VPN on. Also other browsers like Edge load videos without VPN.
