I was working with thunderbird today. Was in a specific email folder I had named "reference" that I use to store various emails, probably around 50 emails in there. Suddenly they all deleted from the folder as I was watching the screen. Checked spam/trash folders and nothing. Also logged into my webmail provider and nothing there either. Any idea what could have happened here? They just seem to have literally vanished. Have used Thunderbird a number of years and never experienced anything like this.

Every time I open my email, an error box pops up saying: "The folder 'inbox on redaced@westriv.com could not be compacted because writing to folder ailed. Verify that you have enough disk space and that you have write privileges to the file system, then try again."

Otherwise, everything is working fine. I receive my emails and I can send. Can you explain this error box?

Where can I see my available disk space? And what does the term 'write privileges to the file system' mean??

      I have a Microsoft Exchange hosted email address with a (mycompanyname.com) domian.   I can check this account via Outlook, but I love Thunderbird so much, I want to sign into this new company account too on Thunderbird.    I know I need to do it via the Exchange Web Services but I get an 'unable to log in at server' error.     See the screen shot attached, is my login field correct?   What should the login field be?  Willing to try any suggestions please!  Thank you,

I have a couple of filters which move selected emails from Inbox to specific folders. When this happens the inbox still contains the original messages, although the message count is reduced or zero, the folder size reflects the remaining text, and compacting the folder does nothing. If I then receive a further , unfiltered message and either delete it or move it into a permanent folder, compressing the Inbox then works.

I tried using Properties->repair on the Inbox when it has these remnants and it restores the filtered messages, which can be deleted as I already have the filtered copies.

I suggest there is a bug in filtering which leaves the Inbox in an invalid state. As I like to keep my Inbox clean I find this behaviour annoying. I think this should be classed as a bug.

A few days ago Thunderbird started denying access to my Yahoo mail account. After many attempts to sort this out I decided to remove the account and add it back again, but to no avail. I also changed my Yahoo password and activated the so called 2 step authentication, but nothing works.

I added the same Yahoo account to Windows Outlook desktop app, without any issues, just signing in with my password.

I also installed Betterbird, the Thunderbird equivalent, but could not add the Yahoo account.

I have been using Thunderbir for many years and would hate to have it uninstalled. I use it for Gmail and Outook accounts as well and without any problems.

I would be gratefull if you could help me out with this problem.

My archive folders have gone out of order alphanumerically. I have tried right clicking the account and selecting "Reset Folder Order" but this has no effect. I have also tried moving folders manually and found that certain folders refused to move. Also after a restart all the folders I have moved appear at the end of the list of folders. This is very inconvenient as I have built up a large number of archive folders over the years. I am on the Release update channel and my version of Thunderbird is up to date (146.0.1 (64-bit)). I haven't been able to upload ab image because I get contstant error message "Error uploading image".

Hallo, vor einiger Zeit habe ich mein Thunderbird E-Mailkonto gelöscht und möchte es wiederhrstellen und mit anderen E-Mail konto verknüpfen; doch da es eine andere Person installierte, weiß ich persönlich nicht wie das wieder hergestellt werden kann und die Posteingang und -Ausgangsnummer angezeigt werden Gibt es ein e Möglichkeit, dass mir jemand hilft oder das damalige Kennwort herauszufinden, denn die automatische Installation wurde nicht erstellt. So was having problems with my email server and stupidly decided that if I deleted the account and reset everything I could get it to work. Turns out provider had a problem that has now been resolved. Today I put in the info and setup the account again now works buts I have lost all my old emails and folders. is there anyway to restore the old account information?

Migrating from Gmail to ThunderBird- Do I have/where to get ThunderBird email address if I want to "escape" Google? Also a tad confused as to how Firefox/Mozilla/Thunderbird relate to one another!

The tree I made for LOCAL/SUBFOLDERS...is now IN A CRAZY .mst unreadable computer language. I need all the files contained in this tree to go back to readable. Gerry

Sg Support team! vor ein paar tagen hat TB plötzlich nach Passwort (PW) gefragt, bei jedem login. Ich wollte das vermeiden. nach Eingabe PW habe ich "automischer Verwaltung" zugestimmt. Dann war inbox leer. Ähnliches ist ein paar Tage davor passiert. Inbox hat sich auf einmal wieder gefüllt? Sind meine emails noch vorhanden? Sind sie verborgen, wenn ja, wo? Ich möchte die emails wieder recovern? Wenn ja, wie? Es ist kein Filter gesetzt. Repair folder hat nicht geholfen.

Using Unified Folders option. Not sure what all the folders in the list represent, but these two SENT folders don't seem to be syncing. Why are these files diaplayed (> dalewebb1@Outlook.com and subfolders). Should the stuff they contain be in the UNIFIED folders? As usual, I'm confused. Thanks,

We have about 40 people still using Thunderbird with Exchange Online. One person is seeing many empty grayed-out folders and subfolders in Thunderbird. If you try to delete them, they come back. If you try to unsubscribe the folder, it comes back. They persist from client to client, computer to computer. Logging directly into Exchange Online using OWA does not show the folders. Unchecking "Show only subscribed folders" causes them to disappear." But they still show up if you right click on the account and click Subscribe. I have already opened a case with Microsoft and they say it's a client issue and not an Exchange Online issue.

Hello After Installing Thunderbird, and adjusted the settings to receive Outlook webmail, I have decided to stay with Outlook. Only problem is that I now receive two duplicate emails in Outlook. Please advise How I can correct this. Thank you
