In the last few days, suddenly and without my deliberate request, a new tab opens every time I click on something to view on my home page. How can I permanently get rid of this horrible feature?

You can mess with the new tab settings in Firefox > Options > Tabs. Where exactly are you clicking on the new page?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.
