Will Mozilla enforce ideological uniformity on users?

The About dialog for Firefox states that the objective of Mozilla is to keep the Web accessible to all. Yet Brendan Eich was bullied into resigning over a private held opinion, which everybody admits did not impact his work. Since actions speak louder than words, I understand that Mozilla in fact has an agenda policing thoughtcrime. My question is, does this apply to employees/contributors only, or does it extend to users?

Are people who eg. oppose gay marriage allowed to use Firefox to browse the Web? Will Mozilla begin to restrict what kind of sites can be accesses with Firefox? What about using Thunderbird to transmit prohibited opinions?

(I asked this in the MozillaZine forums, but a moderator rejected it - true to new form, I suppose. Question #993467 here is similar to this one.)

Noncomformist,

The reason that your question was rejected by mZ mods was because it wasn't a support question but rather a rant. Same rules apply here. This forum is meant for technical support on Mozilla products and not a battleground for political debate or discussion of Mozilla executives.

As you stated above, Mozilla is committed to keeping an open Web for everyone.

Reiterating from above, this is off-topic and doesn't below in the support forum. You can discuss more at https://www.mozilla.org/about/forums/#governance

If you need more info about Mozilla's CEO you can check the resources below

Mozilla Blog: https://blog.mozilla.org/ Brendan Eich's Blog: https://brendaneich.com/

If you have any issues with Firefox, please post a question at /questions/new and someone will assist you.

The forums.mozillaZine.org forums is a independent forum that is not a part of nor run by Mozilla http://www.mozillazine.org/about/ so your thread was not really appropriate when Mozilla would not have seen it anyways. Also if the thread had any attacks or insults or such then even more so in not being appropriate.

Our organizational culture reflects diversity and inclusiveness. We welcome contributions from everyone regardless of age, culture, ethnicity, gender, gender-identity, language, race, sexual orientation, geographical location and religious views. Mozilla supports equality for all. We have employees with a wide diversity of views. Our culture of openness extends to encouraging staff and community to share their beliefs and opinions in public. This is meant to distinguish Mozilla from most organizations and hold us to a higher standard. We absolutely believe both in equality and freedom of speech. Sometimes standing for both at the same time can be hard. A CEO needs to be able to lead, and under the circumstances in the last week with the scrutiny over this issue, Brendan made a personal choice to step down from the role.
