Hello,

Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that turns off some settings and disables most add-ons (extensions and themes).

(If you're using an added theme, switch to the Default theme.)

If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu by clicking on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item:
FirefoxSafeMode

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:

  • On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  • On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
  • On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)

Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode" Safe Mode Fx 15 - Win

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.

To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem.

Thank you.

Nine of the ten most recent reports are related to a problem with Firefox access your PKCS (Estonian ID) card. Is this something you use often? If not, you might want to disable the extension/plugin for now.

Thank you for your suggestions, but I have already disabled the ID card plugin and ran Firefox in safe mode but it still crashes.

Please then paste in to your next reply two or three crash id s relating to Firefox crashing when in safe node and with all plugins disabled.

Would you try in safemode with all plugins disabled please.

Some of the crashes appear to relate to FlashPlayer use, but it should be better to look at one problem at a time so I am trying to see if you have crashes with plugins disabled and in Firefox's safe mode.

If the crashes are mainly FlashPlayer related see this article

What happens with this Estonian card, what is the software used, and any hardware.

Todays' crashes above with all plug-ins disabled in safe mode.

The Card plugin was also disabled and it still crashes. Adobe flash is updated to the recent release also but still crashes from time to time. This happened with my previous PC too but it wouldn't crash the whole FF as it is now.

Have you tried in a new profile?

Sorry I do not really understand this bug. I suspect something from your card reader is involved with these Crashes.

Possibly Jeff will have suggestions, but I suspect it may be worth trying temporally uninstalling your cardreader and seeing if that allows Firefox to run without crashing.

Bug 682839 - Firefox crashes with Estonian pkcs#11 module (slot->pk11slot is probably NULL)
I also note one of the comments in the bug
The real issue isn't the reader, per se. It's most like the PKCS #11 driver that's in use. PKCS #11 drivers are 'foriegn code' (as in code that's not part of NSS or mozilla, not necessarily code that was developed in another country) the runs as a pluggin. That PKCS #11 module could be doing all sorts of weird things.
