WTF, Firefox? (buggy windows)
This issue is pissing me off no end! See the multiple threads on it, below:
When opening a second window, Firefox switches me back to the first one and it's driving me crazy. Please don't tell me the bug is "impossible to fix" and pass the buck to Adobe. I engineer software myself and such a reply is far from acceptable. Sure, I've no doubt Adobe is culpable too, but I don't have time to write everyone an e-mail, especially if they couldn't give a damn.

I've settled on leaving Flash disabled in Firefox. I'm using Internet Explorer when I need to view Flash websites.

Yes, that's orthogonal to your question, but I have nothing else new to say about this problem that you don't already know from your own research.
Wow, it is annoying; having it happen to me numerous times a day. As much as I love Firefox I'm considering ditching it for another browser.
Your choice. You can disable the protected mode feature, use the workaround of always having Flash open in at least one tab, or switch browsers.
oh, thats nice, you are proposing disable modern security features to make web browser just work.

Azure12, Another possible workaround you could try for the Firefox/Flash focus bug (bug 768802) is to set the Flash plugin to "Ask to Activate" in the Firefox Add-ons -> Plugins list, as mentioned in Adobe bug 3223393. To quote from Adobe's bug report:
Activating click-to-play in Firefox is another possibility to gain more control over the stupid flash-plugin. If you use it right.
That means, you should'nt allow click-to-play to have flash activated for specific websites. If you do, you can't control the timing of the focus-loss exactly.
Con: - You have to click each time you want to use flash.
Pros: - Focus-loss can only occur right after you click-to-play. - Any flash content is disabled by default. That means, there should be no danger of infection or performance-impairment by flash elements which you don't need to run.

You have obviously done your research, but unfortunately this is just a forum of fellow Firefox users. We are not developers, and developers are unlikely to read posts in this forum.
Some of us will be disappointed when problems and issues are seen that do not have a good solution, but we do need to be aware that some projects get a higher priority than others. Sometimes about all we can do is suggest workarounds, or maybe suggest somewhere more appropriate to raise the issue.
If you have found reproducible issues for which a bug does not already exist you could file a bug yourself, but unfortunately there is then no guarantee any particular bug will be fixed.
If you wish to try to influence developers maybe see if your questions are ontopic in any of the other fora.

I wonder if you may have built up any network of contacts that may be able to give you suggestions on how to influence or contact developers.
Hi ololo123, I put up with the dumb window switching on my system that is compatible with protected mode. Everyone can make their own choices.

That's a new issue in Firefox 26, and I have been actively contributing to getting it fixed, as you can see by viewing that bug and the one I filed that was considered a duplicate of it. I don't think it could be related to the Flash protected mode behavior. Perhaps you see a link that I do not.
