How do I go about Deleting / Removing Java Deployment Toolkit plugin in Firefox
This plug in has been disabled by Firefox due to vulnerabilities so therefore I see no need to keep it on my system and would like some help in the removal as it does not have an option for doing this. Also when I'm visiting some sites that should be displayed as HTTPS but they only show as HTTP how do I fix this issue??? Any help would greatly appreciated thank you very much cheers.

I do not have Java installed on any of my systems, but the following should still work to remove Java Deployment Toolkit on Windows systems. This method removes only the JDK plugin and only in Firefox. You may need to do this after each update as Java has always reinstalled JDK with each update. Per the article: "Be sure to backup this file before deletion so that you can restore if something goes wrong". You may need to delete the file with Firefox closed or you may need to restart Firefox after the deletion to see the change/deletion from your list of plugins in Add-ons > Plugins.
You should also be able to use the Windows Search function on the Start menu to seach for npDeployJava to find that same file.
You can also type about:plugins in the Location/URL bar and press the Enter key to find the file name and its location associated with JDK plugin in case Java/Oracle has changed the name of the file.

Sorry but I think we have crossed wires here, I wish to remove the Firefox Plugin from my browser - Java Deployment Toolkit 7.0.450.18 10.45.2.18 - and not Java from my system. Thanks for your efforts and time it's very much appreciated.
I assure you, the instructions, once executed only removes the JDK Plug-in from all your browsers. To remove the JDK from the system, I would've recommended un-installation of it from 'Add or Remove Programs' in Control Panel. This is different.

On my Windows 7 64-bit system the file is buried away in C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\dtplugin\npdeployJava1.dll
There is no file of that name in system32 folder that i can see

No that answer was not any good. When I searched in add and remove it wasn't there. I searched for it under "npDeployJava1.dll", and found hidden in my files for my operating system. Since it alerted me that my computer could stop working if changing anything I removed it to the trash can. Now what. It makes me wonder what else it has done to my computer.
Thanks for all the help guys really appreciated, I solved the problem by uninstalling java completely as I no longer have anything on my system that requires it and have had no drama's since. Happy New Year to all have a good one.
