see the following article for suggestions: How to allow Java on trusted sites
You do not need the Java Deployment Toolkit extension.
Only the Java plugin (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > > Plugins) is important and that Java plugin shows in your System Details List.
- Next Generation Java Plug-in 10.25.2 for Mozilla browsers
It won't work. Jave Runtime is working . it is the Java Toolkit plugin that was blocked. I told Firefox to unblock all plugins. When I go to my plugin lists , the Java Toolkit says "Disable" . So that means it is enabled , but everything is in warning RED . But the Java plugin is not in red. Just the Java Toolkit plugin.
I cannot play the game of Cubis on Firefox. Even though it says to disable the java toolkit plugin , it does no good. It won't work.
Guess I will go back to using Chrome instead of Firefox. I like to make my own decisions . Don't like someone making them for me. Think I will uninstall Firefox.

Any "for dummies" type help for this problem? I continue to have trouble with this issue myself. Have tried all these fixes.Uninstalled and reinstalled. Want to keep my Firefox and play pogo games with it.
Can you attach a screenshot of that blocked Java plugin on the "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins" page?

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot.
I got impatient and tried a few things on my own...and they were just frustrated fumbling - but the problem resolved. I am including them here, because my fumbling may help someone with more experience like you figure out what the problem really is.
I rolled back my whole system to before the update from 22 to 23 came in and did not allow it to update. (I do realize this is probably a really dumb thing to do). But the problem ended. All ran fine.
I wish I would have saved a screenshot of 23 before I rolled back and what I had disabled on my own. Namely the McAfee plug ins.
After I received your response I let it update, and noticed the plug ins that 23 auto disabled are different than before.
These are screenshots of what I am running now. I have not had time to game enough to give you proper feedback - so bear with me.
Pogo is running both flash and java based games, it seems to be the java games that are hanging and crashing. I have been able to replicate the hanging, but not the crashing as of yet.
I was watching video AND gaming at the same time...might be too much to ask at the moment period. I also probably have too many plug ins. But, with 22 I could have my cake and eat it too.
I'm guessing this may be a pogo issue - they are making a lot of changes right now it seems, and frustrated people may be ending up here like I did...
Thanks so much for your time and help.
