The sessionstore.bak file is created at every start of Firefox as a copy of the sessionstore.js file saved in the previous session to make it possible to restore the previous session via the History menu at any time during the current session.
So once you have restarted more then once then you have lost the sessionstore.bak file with possibly the lost tabs is gone.

I have the sessionrestore.bak up in WordPad at the moment. Is there a way to restore all of it, or do I have to do it by hand?

The crash report indicates a problem with the Flash plugin.

You can check for problems with current Flash plugin versions and try these:

• disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
• disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)
• disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

If you copy the sessionstore.bak file to the Firefox profile folder and rename the file to sessionstore.js then Firefox should restore that session.
You can also check for History > Recently Closed Tabs/Windows

I just updated everything, so I guess that takes care of that problem. I also renamed the file and moved a copy of it out of the 'default' folder. What do I open it with, and then what do I do next?

I've tried looking for the last session, but it's greyed out. Someone else said that this happened to them as well, possibly from a new update if there's been one.

If placing the file as sessionstore.js in the profile folder doesn't restore the tabs and "History > Recently Closed Tabs/Windows" also doesn't help then it is most likely that the tabs from that session are gone.

But I can still SEE URL information in the .BAK file when I open it up in WordPad. How do I extract all of that from the file without combing through it?

I still don't think that I completely understand. Do I take my previous .bak file from a few days ago and replace the current one? And then do I restart Firefox and try for a session restore? I don't know what to do beyond finding the files. >_<

I suggest you to try the Session Restore function.I had the same problem as you have now...First,type about:sessionrestore in the address bar. Then simply click the Restore button. If that doesn't help try by viewing your history (keyboard shortcut is CTRL+H) and restoring your opened URL-s and tabs manually by clicking on them.I hope this will help.

I tried that, but the box is empty. And I really don't want to have to comb through my entire history since I have tabs from months prior that I'll likely not get back that way. What about replacing my current .bak file with one from several days ago and restarting Firefox? Would that work? (I can view my .bak files using WordPad, so I know that they're there.)

Okay, after reading through everything again, are you saying that I should take a previous .bak file, move it to my current Profile default folder, get rid of the current .bak file, add a .js to its name, then restart Firefox?

Well,you have to use the session restore function right after Firefox crashed.If you haven't done so,it will be harder to restore the session.And ,by the way, you need to have the .bak file from the date your Firefox crashed .So even replacing the current .bak file with that one from several days ago will not work.You should have that one from one month...But I think you should try that anyway... Good luck with restoring the session!

I do have two for that day, yes. So do everything that I've listed with that one? I don't want to accidentally close out the tabs that I've managed to save. And why wouldn't it work for one from previous days?

Good news! I finally got my tabs back by restoring my systems to roughly a week prior. I may have to search through a week's worth of history to retrieve some info, but it's a small price to pay to get the bulk of my pages back. :)
