  Those links are for printkey pro. From what I can tell, warecentral no longer gets involved with nothing other than printkey pro. The older versions I guess from warecentral, they will not respond to? So, again, is there still a way to acquire the older and free version of printkey? Doe anybody have any solutions or suggestions as to how to get the old version of printkey? Thanks

Looks to be an ancient program, which hasn't been updated beyond Windows XP.

Considering that you are using a 64-bit version of Win7, it is very doubtful that that old software is compatible even if you could get it to install.

   So, if the regular printkey 2000 (non printkey pro) is no longer an option, what other free options are there for capturing a screen shot and being able to print it out, albeit a picture shot of the screen? I primarily used to use printkey2000 for taking a snap shot of a picture--photo of someone on the web site classmates, and being able to print it out on my printer. Any suggestions edmeister on what other web sites may offer the same free service that printkey 2000 used to offer for the purposes I'm using it for? Thank you.

The best answer I can offer is to search for such another free program that does what you want. Personally I haven't looked for a screen printer utility program since 1998, when I purchased Parson's ScreenShot Deluxe - before Parson's Technology sold out to Broderbund - http://www.broderbund.com/p-80-screen-shot-deluxe-80.aspx

Nowadays I wouldn't even consider actually purchasing a program like that, but the 29.95 I spent back in 1998 was money well spent, as it turns out. Worked for me on Win98, W2K, and now WinXP.

Or just get used to using the PrintScr button to save the "screen" to the ClipBoard and then use Paint to pull it from the Windows ClipBoard. Then you need to deal with converting / saving that image to something more common than the default BMP file type - unless Win7 has other options in Paint (like PNG or JPG) for saving the screen shot.

sciencemagic - we use printkey2000, the free version on XP. It does not work properly on Windows 7.

However, if you need a copy, I can send it to you.

    Being I'm having no success acquiring the old free version of Printkey2000, I would like very much if you could send a copy. Somewhat of a novice with computer Chapster, so how would you send a copy of it? Certainly though, would very much appreciate it. I do use Windows 7. My old computer did used XP.

Firefox has an add on that is called Capture and Print that works like Print Key 2000.

  Thank you for your reply. Being somewhat of a novice with a computer, can you, in a simple way, explain how to get the add on to capture and print  within Firefox? What was appealing with printkey 2000 was I was able to just click on the little icon in the lower right of the screen, and off I went creating a picture of the current computer screen I was viewing.
   What I'm currently using is called Gadwin Printscreen, and I'm not satisfied how it works frankly, at least compared to the old Printkey2000 free version I had with my old computer. Again, thank you Macman57.

i don't now for what purpose you want to use it, but windows 7 already has a built-in screen capture tool named "snipping tool", just bring up the start menu and search for it...

also the firefox web developer toolbar can take screenshot of the site you're watching (you can access it by the shortcut shift + f2) - just type "screenshot" into the command line and a screenshot will be saved into the downloads folder.

    Thanks for the reply. I did as you said with the firefox option. I hit shift and F2, and a bar showed up on the lower screen. I typed screenshot in it. But, I don't see any commands from there once that was done. Maybe I'm expecting something more to happen, and it won't? 
   How do I access the downloads folder madperson? And, once that is accomplished, how do I create the picture? Again, thank you.

the downloads folder is set in firefox > options > general & it usually resides within your windows user folder.

Open Firefox, in the top right corner is the Orange box with Firefox in it, Left click on it and a dropdown box will appear. In that box on the right side is Add-ons. Left click on it and the Add on page will open. At the top right of that page is a small box with Search All Add Ons in it. That is here you will type Capture and Print and click on the magnifying glass or hit the Enter key and it will take you to the page to get it. The first item on the page is Capture and Print 0.1.6. Just to the right is the button to install it. Follow the directions to install it. It is easy to use.

   Took your advice and followed the instructions for the add on, and clicked install. After clicking install nothing seemed to happen. Reading the comments on more, it stated a button would added to my tool bar, I believe the tool bar is the bottom bar on my screen? But, I don't see a added button. It also stated a right click option would be added for the function, I don't see that either. What do you suggest, or am I doing something wrong. Again, thank you for your help.

You have to restart Firefox for the add-on to show up. Your tool bar is at the top where the address bar is. There should be a symbol somewhere on the right side of the bar. That is what you click on to use it.

    Yes, after restarting a tiny icon did appear in the far right upper corner. I briefly clicked on it, and I was able to I believe capture the screen. When I have more time Maxman57, I will try printing the capture and see how that works out, and do more experimenting with the printscreen option.
