My attempted upgarde on a Mac with current OS fails and Firefox 3.6.3. Acts like a new installation and igrores the upgrade attempt.
I follow all steps and it just stops.

You will need to Reinstall Firefox because your previous Installation did not end properly or it got Corrupted.
-> Uninstall your current Firefox as described in this article -> Uninstall Firefox from your computer
- DO NOT SELECT TO REMOVE USER DATA AND SETTINGS
- Restart your system
-> Download latest Firefox version from the following link using some other Web Browser:
-> Install Firefox 12 as described in this article -> How to download and install Firefox on Mac
Check and tell if its working.
