I cannot change the persona on my laptop! I've tried, but the new persona only stays on while I'm online. It's not being saved or something. What's going on?
About a month or so ago, I did get a nasty piece of malware called SystemCheck on this laptop, but I believe I've gotten rid of it. God knows I've scanned the laptop a million times over and it's come up clean (using both Spybot and Malwarebytes). Prior to this malware, I had no problem changing the persona and being able to keep the new one. Now I can't. Is this SystemCheck still haunting me? Here are the specs for my Laptop: XP-SP3; Compaq Evo N610c; 1.00 GB of RAM I can't find any troubleshooting guide for this issue.

You should look at the article How to fix preferences that won't save. It could be the Firefox is just unable to write to the prefs file.
