Hi,
tried everything, didn't work.
Create a New Profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
-> Basic Troubleshooting: Make a New Profile
-> If that New Profile works then you can recover your Bookmarks and Passwords from the Old Profile.
-> Recovering important data from an old profile

can't click on restore search defaults.
-> Close Firefox (click Firefox button and click Exit)
-> Start Firefox in Safe Mode by holding down SHIFT key while starting Firefox
- As an alternative method, use Win + R key combination and enter one of the following in the Windows Run box:
- firefox -safe-mode
- "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -safe-mode
- "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -safe-mode
-> Firefox Safe Mode window will appear -> DON'T SELECT ANY OPTIONS, just click Continue in Safe Mode
Check and tell if you can click on Restore Defaults button while using Firefox Safe Mode.

problem still occurs.
search engine problems (recommend backing up profile first, and renaming not deleting files), don't you just hate it when people tell you to delete files without revealing consequences (if you rename the search.json file take pictures of your search engine drop-down first as many snapshots as it takes.
- Corrupt localstore.rdf - MozillaZine Knowledge Base
only downside is recustomizing toolbars View>toolbars>customize (take a picture of your toolbars first). May fix, but does not remove search engines.

deleting search.json & search.sqlite -- have to reorder and delete some search engines to get old config back
deleting just search.json no apparent differences
deleting just search.sqlite or search.sqlite and search.json all search engines available but in alphabetical order

You don't have any of the Search Engines (mentioned in the screenshot) in the Search Bar List ??
hi, correct, I don't see any searchengine in the searchbar list, I made a back up from te localstore.rdf file, and then Ideleted it, let firefox create a new one, but also that didn't help.
I honestly don't know what I can try to solve it. Since I tried all the options above.
