Data Collection pop up

more options

The pop up window asking me to send my data onto Firefox, is something I have not asked for or agreed to. When it pops up, it ruins the program I am already using, in particular when watching TV reruns. I am still not certain that the request for my data is not some Nigerian confidence trickster looking to cheat me.

Try the Firefox SafeMode.
A troubleshooting mode, which disables most Add-ons.
(If you're not using it, switch to the Default Theme.)

  1. You can open the Firefox 4/5/6/7 SafeMode by holding the Shft key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  2. Or use the Help menu item, click on Restart with Add-ons Disabled... while Firefox is running.

To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut (without the Shft key) to open it again.

If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one.

Totally blo*dy useless help. I have now lost all my bookmarks, tabs, and I don't know what else. I will now give up using Firefox and get back to Google Chrome.

You shouldn't have lost anything by opening the Firefox SafeMode, unless you did more than merely open the SafeMode.
