Most likely, your bookmarks are still present on your PC in the Firefox Profile folder. See if the information given in these articles help: Bookmarks Toolbar - Display your favorite websites at the top of the Firefox window, Recover lost or missing Bookmarks and Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer.

This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
