All you have to do is move the refresh button, which is defaulted at the right of the address bar.

That's a terrible default spot for the refresh button too. They really should move it back to the normal position to avoid problems with this in the future.

If you upgraded to firefox 4 the refresh button no longer exists. You need to right click your mouse and refresh is reload now. I found that out by accident, because I could not find the refresh button ever since I upgraded to firefox 4.

Firefox 4 uses a combined Stop/Reload/Go button that is positioned at the right end of the location bar. During the page load process it shows as a Stop button and after the loading has finished the button is changed to a Reload button. If you type in the location bar then that button becomes a Go button. You can middle-click that Reload button to duplicate the current tab to a new tab.

To move the Stop and Reload buttons to their position to the left of the location bar you can use these steps:

  • Open the "View > Toolbars > Customize" window to move the Stop and Reload button out of the location bar.
  • Drag the Reload and Stop buttons to their previous position to the left of the location bar.
  • Set the order to "Reload - Stop" to get a combined "Reload/Stop" button.
  • Set the order to "Stop - Reload" or separate them otherwise to get two distinct buttons.

Thx to whoever said it was at the end of the ADDRESS bar. I was looking all the way to the right part of my screen. Someone had mentioned it was at the end.

I have restored the way I had it before I mistakenly installed 4.0.

Note to Firefox: Don't make the same mistake that Microsoft and others always do...that is, moving things around does not mean you're making them better. People don't like change UNLESS IT IS A GOOD CHANGE. Why do software folks CONSTANTLY think ANY change they make we are going to like when they 'upgrade' a product?

What is not good about placing 3 different buttons in the same location, when only one of those three functions is ever active at any one time? It saves the space that those other two buttons once occupied. As Cor-el said, the Stop button is available while the page is loading, the Reload button is available when the page is fully loaded, and the Go button is available once the user types one character in the Location bar / address bar / URL bar. Those three buttons should never interfere with each other.

Here is the solution .

The refresh button is right here next to the google search in the new firefox.

You can right click next to it , itll bring up a menu . Click Customize and drag and drop the refresh button to where you want it. I put mine right next to the home button as seen here.

Go to View -> Toolbars ---> Customise. on right side of addressbar you'll see a refresh icon and stop icon if you cant see it there "click Restore Default Set"

drag refresh icon at the right side of the Forward icon as for the "stop Icon" it should be at the "Left side of the refresh icon"

why drag it to right side of the forward icon you ask it will dissapear if you dont drag it there well thats what happens to mine it took me 6 hours to bring back my refresh icon and stop icon thank goodness i end up dragging the icons to front icon i guess i just got lucky he he he he

This works for me though just hope it will help someone

slilver01, if you place them as Reload then Stop then they will combine (not disappear). If you want to keep them separate then place them as either Stop then Reload or if you want them as Reload then Stop then place something in between like a flexible space to keep the from combing like they do on right end on Location (address) bar..
