Firefox will not allow page printing since today's update. Why? I can still print from Thunderbird and I.E.
do I expect to get a solution to this problem?
I re installed Firefox 3.6.12 and get the same result. It will not allow me to print a page. When I pull down print preview all I get is a grey screen. Help!

Sometimes it is necessary to Reset all the prefs for the printer that isn't working correctly, prefs for other printers shouldn't need to be reset.

Correction : read 3.6.12, not 3.1.6. (edited by the author)

Print, Print Preview PROBLEM in 3.6.12 SOLVED. The left and right margins in Page Setup were so far out of bounds it forced the "page" totally off screen, leaving the "gray" area someone else mentioned. Reset left and right margin back to .5 and Print Preview and Print are back to normal. Solved by trial and error. Thanks folks for the inspiration to keep trying.
I have a similar problem in that neither printer works - sometimes I get a blank page or I get selected text - Usually the fixed graphics not the variable text. R U suggesting that I reset all the lines that refer to print
I have reset the following no good print.print_printer;hp LaserJet 1000
do you want me to reset everything after print.printer_* ie:- print.printer_hp_LaserJet_1000.print_paper_size;3145783
laird,
That's the standard recommendation, but the pref you posted print.printer_hp_LaserJet_1000.print_paper_size;3145783 is at least part of your problem - that value of 3145783 is grossly out of whack.
Encountered same problem: unable to Print, Preview, or Save to PDF from Firefox. Operating Mac OS 10.5.8, Firefox 3.6.12 (upgraded to .13). Reset just: print.print_printer, with no effect. Reset all print.print parameters that were bolded, hence able to be reset, and I can once again Print, Preview, and Save to PDF correctly.
I just downloaded and installed 4.0 beta and the print function seems to now work.
Thanks 00SL2,
My problem was almost exactly like yours except it was the top and bottom margins that were set to some random number (45783 to be exact) while the right and left were at 0.5 like they were supposed to be. Once I could get to the margins settings and return them to where they were supposed to be, everything worked fine again. All I originally did was update from 3.6.12 to 16 then to 4.0. Crazy, almost went back to IE9 because I needed to print things. Doing the behind the scenes full reset apparently does the same thing and returns all setting to default, resetting the print margins is a lot easier. Thanks again for the solution.

Try This!
1) Go to Print Preview 2) Print 3) Name: HP PSC 2100 series (depend on your printer) 4) Properties... 5) Paper size: letter 6) Change to Paper size: A6 7) OK 8) Repeat step 4 again 9) Change back again Paper size: letter 10) OK 11) Don't print, but go back to Print Preview again and see if it works
This is the one that have work for me after trying several times modifying about:config with no success. Good luck and hope that will help.
