Favicons not showing in home content shortcuts

Firefox only shows favicons in the shortcuts for the pre-installed sites. All new sites do not get favicons, just the stylized first letter of the domain.

I deleted favicons.sqlite and favicons.sqlite-wal, restarted Firefox and now it is adding favicons to the home content shortcuts.
