Tab always crashes on audio playback
I've had this problem for a couple of years already. Not with other browsers and, with the Internet Download Manager extension, I'm usually able to download multimedia content in FF. (That's been my workaround.)
For example, when loading this humble URL ... https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/transcoded/d/d8/Plattenknistern_record.ogg/Plattenknistern_record.ogg.mp3 ... if I have autoplay enabled, it'll crash right away ("Your tab just crashed"), without autoplay, it'll crash as soon as I hit play. Until a few days ago, no crash report was created under about:crashes, but, after upgrading to 112.0.1, I've finally been able to submit a crash report: bp-203a462b-e949-47b0-90f3-a99760230422
No difference if I create a new user profile and disable add-ons. Disabling hardware acceleration doesn't help either. I can't do without most of my settings and add-ons, so refreshing FF is not an option. I'd sooner try a new install (and then import my profile and reinstall add-ons), but that's laborious and not guaranteed to solve the problem.
(I've submitted this question before, about half a year ago - now archived -, but that didn't go anywhere for lack of crash diagnostics.)

What security software are you running. I'm in Linux and have no issue with the site, but I'm curious to see what happens in Win11.
Thanks for the suggestion; I'm afraid I'm still on Win 8.1. No security in the background. (Well, I suppose there is some Windows Defender functionality that will run even when the real-time protection feature is disabled.)
What model computer?
Desktop PC, self-assembled almost 10 years ago. Athlon X4 750K, 8 GB RAM, GeForce GTX 750 with 1 GB VRAM, ASRock FM2A88M Extreme4+ mainboard, Realtek HD Audio (onboard I think), Win 8.1 Pro 64.
And here's a crash report with a blank profile and extensions disabled: bp-59b93007-cf6c-4e08-b2d9-7404c0230422 (Same stack trace as before, I think.)
Anything unusual reported on the about:third-party page?
No, none: "No third-party modules were detected."
That's really old... Get on something newer and see if you can replicate the issue. Gonna make pull out my old laptop running Windows XP and test. ;-))
Replicating this on another system seems like a long shot to me. No audio, no videos – I imagine that this would've been reported with persistence and urgency if it were common. I had hoped that the stack trace would hint at something, but, at a glance, not knowing Rust, it seems that audioipc2::ipccore is being invoked somehow, or maybe things don't quite get that far before panic ensues. :S
