Many legitimate Web Sites not loading

Hi I have been experiencing rejection of access to many legitimate Web Sites. I have attached the error I get even when trying to get to a mozilla web page. This is getting both frustrating and limiting in my desire to support, which I do, Mozilla's strategy of privacy and freedom.

I am using Fedora Linux Version 34 and Firefox Version 100.0.2 64 Bit. I did not experience these problems months ago. I have kept everything up to date as far as I can with my OS limits, if any.

I want to examine what is going on and would like to know where to look. Any help would be appreciated ... Robert

Hmm, this sounds like a DNS problem. Could you experiment with switching DNS over HTTPS on and off and see whether either configuration works. This article has the steps: Firefox DNS over HTTPS.

I attach a screenshot that shows I am not using this option. I will turn it on to see if that helps. Update: Turning this feature on solved my issue. Thank you ... I am not sure how or if I somehow missed this item when I upgraded.  :-))

Is there a reason for the old version of Firefox? Can provide a link(s) of a site that is not working for you? Who are you using for DNS? Can you download Firefox from Mozilla, unzip it, and run firefox-bin to see if you have the same issues?

It is the last one that is a standard install on my Fedora 34 version which I do not update until it is EOL. In my original post I show that www.mozilla.org was one of the sites that would not load. I am using NordVPN's recommended servers for DNS resolution. I was interested as to what changed to create my problem rather than just moving past it. This behavior, without any idea of what has happened, was disconcerting and unlike previous releases of Firefox. I support several users on this exact setup and want to resolve it without upgrading all of them at this time.

I don't know why your NordVPN DNS is not working, or why Firefox might not be using it successfully. Did you already have Firefox running and then switch networks from local to the VPN? Perhaps Firefox didn't get the memo.
