one website with scrolling problems
Hello,
There is this one website where scrolling with keyboard keys (arrows or PgUp/PgDown) works intermittently. Sometimes it works when I load the page and then it stops (usually when I switch to another tab and then return to it), sometimes it doesn't work from the start. I went through the usual diagnostics (safe mode, new profile etc.) and even though sometimes they seemed to help at the beginning, the problem always returned. I kind of gave up on it, since the time consumed by me trying to find a solution is disproportionate to the minor annoyance it causes, but it still mystifies me. FWIW, it's a blog with a very long Disqus comment section (the latest post has nearly 1,500 comments). Maybe the problem has a very simple solution which I've just failed to find?

You may have turned on caret browsing <F7> by accident.
Start your Computer in safe mode with network support.
Then start Firefox.
Try Secure websites. Is the problem still there?

The problem returned in Safe mode after a few minutes. Could it have something to do with the fact that the website in question is not secure? (crossed padlock symbol)

OK, this is weird. I restarted Firefox in the Safe mode, the problem didn't return. So then I restarted it with ALL the extensions turned off manually and the problem returned. So what is this thing that the Safe mode does which is more than just turning all the extensions off and which is apparently at the root of my problem?

Type about:profiles<enter> in the address box.
You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
- Settings -> General: Performance

Close and restart Firefox after modifying the setting to make changes effective.
You can check if there is an update for your graphics display driver and check for hardware acceleration related issues.
I tried all the suggested solutions - new "bare" profile, disabling acceleration, disabling Web GL, updating my graphics driver, and unfortunately the problem always returns.

Open the History Manager <Control> (Mac=<Command>) <Shift> H. In the search bar, enter the name of the site. Right-click on one of the listings and select Forget About This Site. This should remove all information, including any site settings And Passwords.
Didn't help, either.
