I tried with the json editing tool, but is there a way how to change the hover color much easier?

Definitely a "tooltip" should have more contrast -- with a light background, the text should be darker, or with light text, the background should be dark.

Are you a theme author? I don't recognize the color scheme.

Yes I am the creator to that thanks with the extensions of firefox, well is there a way how to make it a darker contrast color though? I did try the backdoor json on my comp, and for the like of itself, it will not save the customed coding either... So I did try to download other branches of firefox to my p.c. and the hover text is orange... Seriously there has to be a better way...

I don't know what the backdoor JSON refers to.

An add-on theme is created with a manifest.json file that specifies colors for various parts of the UI. I think other extensions can use the theme API to set those colors, too -- that is how the Firefox Color extension works. Are you doing it that way?

Or userChrome.css?

What is the API color changer? Sorry if that seems like a stupid question, but the only ways I know to change colors of the toolbar area are:

  • add-on themes
  • extension that can modify colors (such as Firefox Color)
  • userChrome.css file
