Hi since the last upgrade to 91.0.2 24th August I cannot download anything through Firefox. If my husband logs in on the same PC, he can download stuff and he is using the same version. We haven't consiously set up anything different. If I use Google I can downlaod as normal. What's happened? Thanks

Can you provide a screenshot showing what happens when you try to download?

I don't think I'd catch it. There is a very swift movement of the tab header. There is no error message. Just nothing.

Are you using the same profile or are each of you using your own (computer user accounts)?

Please explain the problem in detail. What happens? What is/are the exact error message(s) ?

Start Firefox using Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web Link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for a download manager.

This download manager works separately from the browser. The browser tells it what to download, and off it goes.

http://www.freedownloadmanager.org It is a powerful modern download accelerator and organizer for Windows and Mac.

I don't think we have done anything differently, he logs in, opens Firefox and can download anything as normal. I'm not sure what you mean about computer user accounts. We are two users on the one pc. As I said, there is no error message and nothing much happens apart from a small flicker of the tab header.

Hi Sheila, What Fred is referring to is Windows logins. On Windows, the user-data (including Firefox data) is kept per-user, meaning that your husband would be using different Firefox user files than you.

After you start your computer, do you have to sign into a different Windows user account than your husband?

Hi chris yes we use different Windows accounts as you describe. Neither of us have changed anything recently and it seems that suddenly mine is doing something different. Up until the last upgrade it worked fine.

Try updating the browser to see if it helps.
