Bookmark spacing (Cushion space) horrendous on desktop
I truly hope the developers at least refer to this site for concern requests for fixes.
It seems every about:config fix for the spacing of the bookmarks as well as the photon/proton fixes are doing nothing on Firefox version 91.
Is there anyway to get a simple checkbox that fixes the views for desktop? The whole world is not working on tablets or phones and this is so frustrating to see functionality continually broken with updates that are obviously required because of security issues that plague the online world.
Can any developers please respond to when users can see a fix to this issue? I know this is far from life ending but it breaks the visual aspect of the browser so badly.

Version 93 is now out and it HAS fixed the spacing issue. Bookmarks are back to being contained within the viewable screen area and the extreme cushioning is now gone.
A much better experience once again on desktop.

Hey there!
Please see https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1342447 for how to remove the double spacing.
Hope I helped!
Kind regards,

Bithiah, thanks for trying but Version 91 seems to have removed some functionality for this to work. Spacing remains.
Hey Bretta!
Well others with the same problem have rolledback to the previous version of Firefox. If you want to do so as well you may :
Warning: Installing a previous version doesn't fix most problems
Problems with an update are generally not caused by the new version of Firefox, but rather the update process. Installing a previous version will not help in most cases. The best option is to start a new thread about your issues, where others can suggest specific solutions.
Using old versions of Firefox also poses a significant security risk.

Sometimes rolling back is the best solution. Apparently the devs are fixing this issue. I think I need to do some more research on what's causing this to happen.
Hope I helped!
Kind regards,
Bithiah

Hey there!
If your problem is solved, please mark a solution so that others can see this thread is solved. Thank you in advance!

I wouldn't consider a roll back a solution to the issue. I did do a roll back but ended up back on the current version due to automatic updates. (yes, on me for not unchecking automatically update).
This in itself is not a fun process as everything you work on to create a usable product has to be re-implemented. (Pinned tabs, saved forms, etc.)
Developers appear to be prioritizing smaller screens (touch) over computer users in trying to make the browser everything. Its disappointing to see a base amount of users thrown aside with updates that breaks usability for what seems a significant number of people.
Thanks,
In version 93 the compact mode will lower bookmark spacing to previous values.
TyDraniu, thanks for the info. Any idea when users can expect offical release of V. 93?

In the current Firefox 92 release you can only reduce the menu spacing via userChrome.css. In the next Firefox 93 release (current Beta/DE) they have added support to reduce the menu spacing via "Density: Compact" on the Customize page.
